Slow Growth and Optimal Approximation of Pseudoanalytic Functions on the Disk

open access: yesInternational Journal of Analysis and Applications, 2013
Pseudoanalytic functions (PAF) are constructed as complex combination of real-valued analytic solutions to the Stokes-Betrami System. These solutions include the generalized biaxisymmetric potentials.

Frobenius–Padé approximants of piecewise analytic functions II

open access: yesJournal of Approximation Theory, 2017
We prove the convergence of the FrobeniusPadé approximants for a class of piecewise analytic functions which includes |x| with 0<<2. The measures considered for the expansions are symmetric in [1,1]. © 2017 Elsevier Inc.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Approximation and geometric properties of some complex Bernstein-Stancu polynomials in compact disks

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2007
In this paper, the order of simultaneous approximation, convergence results of the iterates and shape preserving properties, for complex Bernstein-Stancu polynomials (depending on one parameter) attached to analytic functions on compact disks are ...

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Partition of unity method and smooth approximation

open access: yesНаучно-технический вестник информационных технологий, механики и оптики
This work presents a new piecewise polynomial method of smooth analytic approximation for any dimension and variability of experimental data. Alternatives to this method are cubic and bicubic splines which have their advantages and disadvantages.

Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...
