ON RATIONAL APPROXIMATION OF ANALYTIC FUNCTIONS

Mathematics of the USSR-Sbornik, 1973
Let E be a regular compact set, and D an arbitrary domain containing E. A constructive characterization is given of the class of functions analytic in D, using best approximation on E by rational functions with a specially chosen sequence of poles. Bibliography: 4 items.

Approximation in spaces of analytic functions

Studia Mathematica, 2020
Summary: We give an elementary proof of the approximation theorem established by A. Matheson for analytic Lipschitz spaces \(\lambda_\alpha\). Our approach allows us to extend this theorem to \(\mathcal D_\omega\cap\lambda_\alpha\), where \(\mathcal D_\omega\) denotes superharmonically weighted Dirichlet spaces (including standard Dirichlet spaces). ANALYTICAL APPROXIMATIONS OF THERMODYNAMIC FUNCTIONS OF AIR

AIAA Journal, 1963
with an adiabatic exponent 7 = 1.308. This value of 7 corresponds to the value v = 0.25 used in our calculations. It is clear from the graphs that the accuracy of expressions (9) and (10) falls with increase in pressure. This is due, on the one hand, to the increase in the nitric oxide content of the air, and, on the other, to a displacement of the ...

Rational approximation of analytic functions

Proceedings of the Steklov Institute of Mathematics, 2011
From the introduction: The paper reflects the author's contribution to the theory of constructive rational approximation of analytic functions. It includes results published by the author in 1969--1997 (some of them jointly with his students). The results presented concern the convergence of Padé approximants and more general rational interpolation ...

Approximation of analytic functions by Airy functions

Integral Transforms and Special Functions, 2008
We solve the inhomogeneous Airy differential equation and apply this result to prove that every analytic function can be approximated, on a restricted domain, by an appropriate ‘Airy function’ with an error bound described by a quadratic function.

Uniform Approximation Properties for Spaces of Analytic Functions

Mathematische Nachrichten, 2000
Summary: We prove that the Banach space of bounded analytic functions and the disc algebra have the uniform bounded approximation property of order \(p\) for \(1< p< \infty\).
