“Multivariate Approximation: Theory and Applications”

open access: yesJournal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, 2013
This introductory paper describes the main topics of this special issue, dedicated to Leonardo Traversoni, known at the international level as the promoter of the conference series "Multivariate Approximation: Theory and Applications", to celebrate his 60th birthday.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Ground-based radar data processing based on pseudo-polar coordinate system

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
Ground-based radar can make high-precision and real-time monitoring of micro changes in the observation area. It has been actually applied in various industries such as land, open-pit mines, water conservancy dams, and highway bridges.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Gravitational Energy Loss and Binary Pulsars in the Scalar Ether-Theory of Gravitation

open access: yes, 2003
Motivation is given for trying a theory of gravity with a preferred reference frame (``ether'' for short). One such theory is summarized, that is a scalar bimetric theory. Dynamics is governed by an extension of Newton's second law.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

On Topological Properties of IF Approximation Spaces

open access: yesFuzzy Information and Engineering, 2015
Rough approximation operators in approximation spaces are the core concept of rough set theory, which draw close links between rough set theory and topology.

Hard Polarized Photon Emission in Single Crystals by High Energy Electrons for Planar Crystal Orientations

open access: yes, 1999
The radiation emission spectra of polarized photons emitted from charge particle in single crystal are obtained in semiclassical theory in Baer-Katkov-Strakhovenko approximation for planar crystal orientation.
