These findings confirm that the Campanian‐aged Bozbent Member turbiditic sequence in the Eastern Pontides was deposited in an extensional fore‐arc basin and therefore exhibits the petrographic and geochemical characteristics of passive margin sandstones.

‘The big chunky belemnite’: a new relict megateuthidid from the Oxfordian (Late Jurassic) of Wyoming, USA, and its place in the evolutionary history of the group

Abstract We describe and discuss two finds of large and untypical belemnite rostra originating from the upper part of the Sundance Formation (Oxfordian) of Wyoming, USA. With a diameter reaching c. 60 mm at the anterior end, these rostra are the thickest known for belemnites so far.

Показана можливість виділення двох нанопланктонних зон: Chiastozygus litterarius (нижній апт) та Rhagodiscus angustus (средній-верхній апт). Межа апту та альбу встановлена за появою Prediscosphaera cretacea.

Fossil record of Ephedra in the Lower Cretaceous (Aptian), Argentina

Fossil plants from the Lower Cretaceous (upper Aptian) of the La Cantera Formation, Argentina, are described. The fossils studied represent a leafy shooting system with several orders of articulated and striated axes and attached leaves with unequivocal ephedroid affinity.
