A new TCP/AQM system analysis [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Network and Computer Applications, 2015
The MGT fluid model has been used extensively to guide designs of AQM schemes aiming to alleviate adverse effects of Internet congestion. In this paper, we provide a new analysis of a TCP/AQM system that aims to improve the accuracy of the MGT fluid model especially in heavy traffic conditions.

Oblivious AQM and Nash equilibria

IEEE INFOCOM 2003. Twenty-second Annual Joint Conference of the IEEE Computer and Communications Societies (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37428), 2002
An oblivious active queue management scheme is one which does not differentiate between packets belonging to different flows. In this paper, we study the existence and the quality of Nash equilibria imposed by oblivious AQM schemes on selfish agents. Oblivious AQM schemes are of obvious importance because of the ease of implementation and deployment ...

Policy-oriented AQM Steering

2018 IFIP Networking Conference (IFIP Networking) and Workshops, 2018
Detecting and handling network congestion in the Internet has, again, become a vital area of research. The provisioning of low latency together with high throughput is of particular interest due to the current mix of applications running in the Internet. Active Queue Management (AQM) mechanisms come with the promise of reducing queuing delays.

NLAR: A New Approach to AQM

2010 IEEE 24th International Conference on Advanced Information Networking and Applications Workshops, 2010
The traditional adaptive Random Early Detection (RED) algorithm allows network to achieve high throughput and low average delay. However it uses a linear dropping probability function, which causes high jitter in the core router. To overcome the drawbacks of queue jitter in the traditional adaptive RED algorithm, this paper proposes a new Non-Linear ...

Design of a robust AQM strategy for dynamic TCP/AQM networks based on CDM

Proceedings of 2005 IEEE Conference on Control Applications, 2005. CCA 2005., 2005
A new robust AQM strategy for dynamically varying TCP/AQM networks is proposed. The developed AQM is designed based on coefficient diagram method (CDM), which is a new indirect pole placement approach that considers the speed, stability and robustness of the closed loop system in terms of the time domain specifications.

Implementation of MPC as an AQM controller

Computer Communications, 2010
Utilizing model predictive controllers (MPC) as an active queue management scheme is investigated in this paper. Model based prediction of future output and determining optimized value of the control signal have made MPC as an advanced control strategy in various modern control systems.

Adaptive RED in AQM

2009
The algorithms of queue management in IP routers determine which packet should be deleted when necessary. The active queue management, recommended by IETF, enhances the efficiency of transfers and cooperate with TCP congestion window mechanism in adapting the flows intensity to the congestion of a network.

A comparative simulation study of TCP/AQM systems for evaluating the potential of neuron-based AQM schemes

Journal of Network and Computer Applications, 2014
Abstract In recent years, several neuron-based active queue management (AQM) schemes have been proposed. Such schemes exhibit important attributes including fast convergence with high accuracy to a desired queue length. This paper presents extensive comparative simulation results for four neural AQM schemes, namely, Neuron PID, AN-AQM, FAPIDNN, NRL ...

AQM en province…

2023
