AQM Mechanism with Neuron Tuning Parameters
2020The congestion control is one of the most important questions in modern computer network performance. This article investigates the problem of adaptive neuron based choice of the Active Queue Mechanisms parameters. We evaluate the performance of the AQM mechanism in the presence of self-similar traffic based on the automatic selection of their ...

Robust Controller Design for AQM Router
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2007This paper designs a robust active queue management (AQM) controller for IP routers based on the robust mu-analysis. Specifically, we synthesize the controller by modeling the uncertainty of the TCP/AQM system in the form of an uncertainty weight, and by approximating the mu-optimal control problem with the Hinfin S/T/U MSP (Mixed Sensitivity Problem).

An Optimal AQM Controller for the DiffServ Architecture
IEEE GLOBECOM 2007-2007 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2007The assured forwarding per hop behavior of the differentiated services architecture (DiffServ) was proposed to provide throughput differentiation in the Internet. In this paper, we use a non-rational approach to develop an optimal AQM controller for this PHB. The design considers both adaptative and non-adaptative traffic.

CDM-based design and performance evaluation of a robust AQM method for dynamic TCP/AQM networks
Computer Communications, 2009A new robust AQM strategy for dynamically varying TCP/AQM networks is proposed and its performance is investigated through computer simulations in MATLAB and ns-2 environments. The developed AQM is designed based on coefficient diagram method (CDM), which is a new indirect pole placement method that considers the speed, stability and robustness of the ...

An Adaptive REM for Improving AQM Performance
2008 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2008In this paper, we propose an adaptive algorithm called Adaptive REM (AREM) that improves the performance of random exponential marking (REM) in two ways. Firstly, it adaptively controls the parameter alpha to achieve fast response, and secondly, it introduces a new method to evaluate dropping/marking probability with each packet arrival to reduce the ...

A modification to RED AQM for CIOQ switches
IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2004. GLOBECOM '04., 2005In very large networks with heavy traffic, congestion control plays an important role in network resource management. One approach to this is the active queue management (AQM) algorithms. Many AQM algorithms have been proposed and analyzed but they mainly focus on single queued links.

Synthesis of PI–type Congestion Controller for AQM Router in TCP/AQM Network
2010This paper considers the problem of stabilizing network using a proportional-integral (PI) based congestion controller in active queue management (AQM) router, a necessary and sufficient condition on the network is determined for the existence of stabilizing PI controllers, which will present some general guidelines for the design of a stable PI AQM ...

Research for AQM based on MiniMax method
Neural Computing and Applications, 2014This paper proposes an active queue management (AQM) controller for a class of linearized congestion router network systems in the presence of unknown time-varying link number and disturbances. Based on the idea of MiniMax method in game theory, a novel output feedback controller is specially designed with the improved robustness to the disturbances ...

Adaptive-CDM: A New AQM Controller to Cope with TCP/AQM Networks Dynamics
2005 5th International Conference on Information Communications & Signal Processing, 2006A new adaptive controller based on coefficient diagram method (CDM) as an active queue management (AQM) method is introduced. In the developed AQM (ACDM), the output feedback pole placement is implemented in an indirect model reference adaptive control (MRAC) scheme, in which the closed loop characteristic polynomial is determined by CDM and the system

Constructive output feedback AQM design
Proceedings of the 2005, American Control Conference, 2005., 2005A novel constructive output feedback congestion controller is presented for asymptotically stabilizing a class of TCP networks at a desired operating point. An observer for the TCP window size is proposed to aid the task of designing AQM controller with only the output (queue size) measurement. Conditions under which the TCP window estimation converges
