Proceedings of 2004 International Conference on Machine Learning and Cybernetics (IEEE Cat. No.04EX826), 2005
As an effective method for congestion control, active queue management plays an important role in improving the QOS of the Internet. We analyze the control mechanisms of typical transport layer protocols and AQM through dual theory, pointing out that although AQM is stateless, it has potential to improve flow fairness and stabilize queue length ...

R-AQM: Reverse ACK Active Queue Management in Multi-tenant Data Centers
IEEE International Conference on Network Protocols, 2021TCP incast has become a practical problem for high-bandwidth, low-latency transmissions, resulting in throughput degradation of up to 90% and delays of hundreds of milliseconds, severely impacting application performance.

Adaptive-CDM: A New AQM Controller to Cope with TCP/AQM Networks Dynamics
2005 5th International Conference on Information Communications & Signal Processing, 2006A new adaptive controller based on coefficient diagram method (CDM) as an active queue management (AQM) method is introduced. In the developed AQM (ACDM), the output feedback pole placement is implemented in an indirect model reference adaptive control (MRAC) scheme, in which the closed loop characteristic polynomial is determined by CDM and the system

Stability of TCP/AQM Networks Under DDoS Attacks With Design
IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering, 2020The current Internet is dramatically suffering the Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, in which the perpetrator maliciously makes network resource unavailable to its intended users by temporarily or indefinitely disrupting the services of a ...

Design of a robust AQM strategy for dynamic TCP/AQM networks based on CDM
Proceedings of 2005 IEEE Conference on Control Applications, 2005. CCA 2005., 2005A new robust AQM strategy for dynamically varying TCP/AQM networks is proposed. The developed AQM is designed based on coefficient diagram method (CDM), which is a new indirect pole placement approach that considers the speed, stability and robustness of the closed loop system in terms of the time domain specifications.

Constructive output feedback AQM design
Proceedings of the 2005, American Control Conference, 2005., 2005A novel constructive output feedback congestion controller is presented for asymptotically stabilizing a class of TCP networks at a desired operating point. An observer for the TCP window size is proposed to aid the task of designing AQM controller with only the output (queue size) measurement. Conditions under which the TCP window estimation converges

Robust Controller Design for AQM Router
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2007This paper designs a robust active queue management (AQM) controller for IP routers based on the robust mu-analysis. Specifically, we synthesize the controller by modeling the uncertainty of the TCP/AQM system in the form of an uncertainty weight, and by approximating the mu-optimal control problem with the Hinfin S/T/U MSP (Mixed Sensitivity Problem).

OpenFlow control for cooperating AQM scheme
IEEE 10th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SIGNAL PROCESSING PROCEEDINGS, 2010OpenFlow is defined as a unified control plane and architecture for packet and circuit switched networks. We deal with the congestion control problem in the multi-layer network, and propose a cooperative congestion control scheme for a domain with multiple AQM routers based on the OpenFlow architecture. This scheme operates three different cases in the

The algorithms of queue management in IP routers determine which packet should be deleted when necessary. The active queue management, recommended by IETF, enhances the efficiency of transfers and cooperate with TCP congestion window mechanism in adapting the flows intensity to the congestion of a network.
