Rare Earth 3‐Hydroxyphenylacetate Complexes: Synthesis, Structural Characterization, and Surprising Improved Anticorrosion Performance on Mild Steel

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, EarlyView.
The rare earth (RE) aqua complexes using 3‐hydroxyphenylacetate ligand were prepared using the corresponding RE salt and the sodium salt of the ligand by a salt metathesis reaction. Two different structural motifs of the complexes, {[La(3hpa)3(H2O)] × 2H2O}n, and [RE(3hpa)3(H2O)]n (RE = Ce (2), Nd (3), Gd (4), Dy (5), Y (6), Er (7), Yb (8)) were ...

Astrocyte subtype‐specific alterations in the dentate gyrus of individuals with mesial temporal lobe epilepsy

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Epilepsy affects approximately 50 million people worldwide and, although primarily attributed to neuronal dysfunction, increasing evidence highlights a critical role of glial cells, particularly astrocytes, in the pathophysiological mechanisms.

Optimising the Eco‐Friendly Extraction of Carotenoids From Gac Fruit: A Sustainable Solution for Natural Red Food Colourants

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
Gac fruit's high carotenoid content, especially in the aril, makes it an excellent natural red pigment source for food applications, offering a safer alternative to synthetic dyes. Ethanol extraction achieved the highest overall pigment recovery (89.53%), whereas ethyl lactate extraction yielded the highest levels of total carotenoids, β‐carotene ...

Evaluation of Performance of a Polymer‐Based Fixative (FIXSCENT) on the Controlled Release Kinetics and Longevity of Top and Heart Notes of Alcoholic Perfume

open access: yesFlavour and Fragrance Journal, EarlyView.
Effects of varying concentrations of a polymer‐based fixative (FIXSCENT) were studied on perfume samples and the results indicated a sustained release pattern and a significant delay in the release of both top and heart notes upon addition of 5% FIXSCENT.
