Density profiles in a classical Coulomb fluid near a dielectric wall. I. Mean-field scheme
The equilibrium density profiles in a classical multicomponent plasma near a hard wall made with a dielectric material characterized by a relative dielectric constant $\ew$ are studied from the first Born-Green-Yvon equation combined with Poisson ...

Multifunctional Microstructured Surfaces by Microcontact Printing of Reactive Microgels
Reactive poly(N‐vinylcaprolactam‐co‐glycidyl methacrylate) microgels are used as functional inks to create surface‐grafted arrays on glass via microcontact printing. The patterns (10–50 µm widths and spacings) enable stable binding and post‐functionalization with dyes and peptides.

Lead halide perovskite nanocrystals are promising scintillators but suffer from reabsorption losses and limited compatibility with high‐Z additives. Hybridization of CsPbBr3 nanocrystals with PbBr2‐passivated HfO2 nanoparticle sensitizers, achieved during or after synthesis, produces stable composites with maintained optical quality, improved ...

Aqua MODIS Electronic Crosstalk on SMWIR Bands 20 to 26
Aqua MODIS Moon images obtained with bands 20 to 26 (3.66 - 4.55 and 1.36 - 1.39 $\mu$m) during scheduled lunar events show evidence of electronic crosstalk contamination of the response of detector 1.

Sustenance of phytoplankton in the subpolar North Atlantic during the winter through patchiness [PDF]
This study investigates the influence of two factors that change the mixed layer depth and can potentially contribute to the phytoplankton sustenance over winter: 1) variability of air-sea fluxes and 2) three-dimensional processes arising from strong ...

In this study, the preparation techniques for silver‐based gas diffusion electrodes used for the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (eCO2R) are systematically reviewed and compared with respect to their scalability. In addition, physics‐based and data‐driven modeling approaches are discussed, and a perspective is given on how modeling can aid ...

Monitoring of Water Quality for Reduced Water Use in a Partial Recirculating Aquaculture System
Partial recirculating aquaculture systems (PRASs) aim for combining the benefits of flow‐through systems (water use of approximately 50,000 L kg−1 feed) and recirculating aquaculture systems (RASs, 500–1000 L kg−1 feed).

Stochastic Control of Battery Energy Storage System with Hybrid Dynamics
This paper addresses the control of load demand and power in a battery energy storage system (BESS) with Boolean-type constraints. It employs model predictive control (MPC) tailored for such systems.

This work reports the first gram‐scale solvothermal synthesis of ‘Rubik's cube’ nanoparticles—cubic, dendritic multicore structures with tuneable sizes and exceptional magnetic heating performance. Featuring iron oxide single‐domain character, with low coercivity fields, high magnetization, and strong MPI signals, they enable viscosity‐independent ...
