Worm‐Inspired Soft Robots With Modular Outfit‐Changing for Intelligent Multienvironment Adaptation
This study proposes a worm‐inspired soft robot capable of locomotion across multiple environments through a modular “outfit‐changing” strategy. The robot integrates pneumatically actuated peristaltic segments with interchangeable external modules, enabling efficient motion on ground surfaces, within pipelines, through granular media, and underwater ...

Bioluminescence in Aquatic Organisms
Bioluminescence is a light production phenomena performed by means of chemical reactions or cellular secretion existing in the cells of living organisms or in the cells and organs of the symbiotic organisms which live together with them. In this process, at least two chemicals, luciferin and luciferase, are required.

Shaped by context: Evolutionary trajectories of desiccation tolerance in land plants
Abstract Desiccation tolerance (DT), the ability to survive near‐complete cellular dehydration, is widespread in diaspores but rare in the vegetative tissues of land plants. The patchy and punctuated phylogenetic distribution of vegetative desiccation tolerance (VDT) suggests that the trait is both ancient and recurrent, yet the evolutionary ...
