Seasonal biodiversity and ecological studies on the epiphytic microalgae communities in polluted and unpolluted aquatic ecosystem at Assiut, Egypt [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
A qualitative and quantitative study on epiphytic microalgae was carried out seasonally from November 2015 to August 2016 to follow up their community structures on aquatic macrophytes related to some physico-chemical properties of two polluted

Eficiência da adubação orgânica com esterco bovino e com Egeria densa Efficiency of organic fertilization with cattle manure and Egeria densa

Application of Floating Aquatic Plants in Phytoremediation of Heavy Metals Polluted Water: A Review

open access: yes, 2020
Heavy-metal (HM) pollution is considered a leading source of environmental contamination. Heavy-metal pollution in ground water poses a serious threat to human health and the aquatic ecosystem. Conventional treatment technologies to remove the pollutants

Self‐Spiking Linear Neuromorphic Soft Pressure Sensor for Underwater Sensing Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel design of a neuromorphic pressure sensor that can generate self‐spiking symmetric signals with direct event‐based encoding through the integration of magnetic spheres and alternating coil circuits. The key advantages of this work include high linearity up to 200 kPa (R2 = 0.997), self‐spiking behavior for simplified signal ...

Method for treating wastewater using microorganisms and vascular aquatic plants [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
A method for treating wastewater compresses subjecting the wastewater to an anaerobic setting step for at least 6 hours and passing the liquid effluent from the anaerobic settling step through a filter cell in an upflow manner.

Constructing Asymmetric Sn‐Cu‐C Interface via Defective Carbon Trapped Atomic Clusters for Efficient Neutral Nitrate Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work constructs asymmetric Sn‐Cu‐C interface via anchoring SnCu atomic clusters on carbon defects. Such as‐synthesized SnCu‐DG catalyst achieves a high NH3 Faradaic efficiency (99.5%) and a record intrinsic activity of 2.61 × 10−17 mmol h−1 siteCu−1 at neutral electrolyte condition.

Energy from aquatic plant wastewater treatment systems [PDF]

open access: yes
Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes), duckweed (Spirodela sp. and Lemma sp.), water pennywort (Hydrocotyle ranunculoides), and kudzu (Pueraria lobata) were anaerobically fermented using an anaerobic filter technique that reduced the total digestion time
