Mn‐Induced Support Stabilization and Ir Electronic Activation Enable Acid‐Stable, Low‐Loading IrO2 Water Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces a dual‐regulation strategy utilizing a Mn‐doped Co3O4 support to enhance the activity and stability of low‐loading IrO2 catalysts for acidic water oxidation. Mn induces strong Mn─O covalency to reinforce the spinel lattice and activates Ir sites via interfacial electron transfer.

Dual‐Substrate Synergistic Photocatalysis: Exogenous Reagent‐Free Co‐Removal of Phenol and Cr(VI) via Electron‐Donor‐Mediated Redox Coupling over Modified Carbon Nitride

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An exogenous reagent‐free dual‐substrate strategy harnesses phenol as an intrinsic electron donor to drive synchronous phenol degradation and Cr(VI) reduction over modified carbon nitride. π–π stacking and hydrogen bonding direct electron transfer to the catalyst, enriching photogenerated electrons and accelerating Cr(VI) reduction 6.4‐fold. This waste‐

Endozoochorous dispersal of aquatic plants: does seed gut passage affect plant performance?

open access: yes, 2005
The ingestion of seeds by vertebrates can affect the germinability and/or germination rate of seeds. It is, however, unclear if an earlier germination as a result of ingestion affects later plant performance.

Machine Learning‐Driven Prediction of Microplastic Aging Processes and Environmental Risk Assessment Across Multi‐Media Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This perspective proposes a cohesive machine learning strategy to decode microplastic aging. It advocates for Federated Learning to dismantle global data silos and introduces the TRACE framework (TRansport, Aging, Corona, Ecotoxicity). By integrating physics‐informed modeling with causal discovery, this approach bridges the laboratory‐field gap to ...

Why are most aquatic plants widely distributed? Dispersal, clonal growth and small-scale heterogeneity in a stressful environment

open access: yes, 2002
Non-marine aquatic vascular plants generally show broad distributional ranges. Climatic factors seem to have limited effects on their distributions, besides the determination of major disjunctions (tropical-temperate-subarctic).

Multi‐Stimuli‐Responsive Hydrogen‐Bonded Organic Frameworks Nanocarriers Enable Targeted Fungicide Release and Plant Immune Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A fluorinated hydrogen‐bonded organic framework nanocarrier (PFC‐1‐F) loaded with PYR and coated with HACC enables multi‐stimuli‐responsive (enzyme/ROS/pH) release at infection sites. Exhibiting targeted antifungal activity against Sclerotium rolfsii, modulating plant antioxidant defense, and demonstrating favorable biosafety across plant, soil, and ...

Do waterbirds determine the distribution of aquatic plants on the Kuril Archipelago (North-Western Pacific)?

open access: yesJournal of Asia-Pacific Biodiversity
Aquatic plant ranges are supposed to be considerably shaped by long-distance dispersal with waterbirds. However, frequency and spatial patterns of such dispersal are difficult to quantify directly.

In‐Process Magnetization for 3D Printing of Magnetorheological Elastomer with Heterogeneous Magnetic Profile for Anisotropic Actuation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fully programmable, in‐process 3D magnetization integrated with multi‐material printing enables soft magnetic systems with precise actuation and sensing. Discrete and continuous magnetization profiles drive bending, morphing, and locomotion, demonstrated through strain‐sensing elements, dragonfly‐inspired wings, octopus‐like tentacles, and a serpentine
