Spontaneous vesiculation of aqueous lipid dispersions
Biochemistry, 1986The swelling properties of lipid mixtures consisting of phosphatidylcholine and a charged single-chain detergent have been studied. The work presented here is confined to lipid mixtures forming smectic lamellar phases in H2O. These mixtures exhibit continuous swelling with increasing water content, provided the surface charge density exceeds a ...

Rheology of aqueous carbon black dispersions
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2004The interaction of carbon black with an acrylic resin has been investigated by rheology. Two carbon blacks, with similar particle size and surface characteristics but quite different particle morphologies, have been examined. These are somewhat arbitrarily denoted as "spherical" and "fractal" as shown by small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) and ...

Aqueous polyurethane dispersions
Colloid & Polymer Science, 1996This review describes basic chemistry, preparation process, and physical properties of aqueous polyurethane disperisons and the derived films, along with the methods of post treatment to modify the properties. Basic way to render a polyurethane water dispersible without external emulsifier has been described.

Mixtures of gangliosides and phosphatidylcholine in aqueous dispersions
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Biomembranes, 1972The interaction of ox brain gangliosides and pure egg phosphatidylcholine has been studied by taking aqueous dispersions of the two lipids in all proportions and centrifugating the dispersion at 100 000 × g for half an hour and measuring the amount and composition of the pellet and supernatant.

Signatures of Overaging in an Aqueous Dispersion of Carbopol
Langmuir, 2020In this work, we study the effect of the deformation field on the physical aging behavior of an aqueous Carbopol dispersion. It is composed of soft swollen particles of gel that get deformed and acquire a polygonal shape, with flat interfaces rendering the dispersion a soft solid-like consistency as filled volume fraction approaches unity.

Aqueous Nanosilica Dispersants for Carbon Nanotube
Langmuir, 2015Nanosilicas can disperse single-wall carbon nanotube (SWCNT) in aqueous solution efficiently; SWCNTs are stably dispersed in aqueous media for more than 6 months. The SWCNT dispersing solution with nanosilica can produce highly conductive transparent films which satisfy the requirements for application to touch panels.

Dioxygen solubility in aqueous phosphatidylcholine dispersions
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Biomembranes, 1991The solubility of molecular oxygen, or dioxygen, in low weight percent (1.5%) sonicated dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine (DMPC) aqueous dispersions saturated with air has been measured as a function of temperature between 10 degrees C and 40 degrees C.

Radiation response of vitamin A in aqueous dispersions
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 1977The radiation destruction of vitamin A acetate was monitored in isooctane, coconut oil, and aqueous dispersions. The G(-vit. A), i.e., the number of vitamin A molecules destroyed per 100 eV of energy absorbed in lipid solvents and aqueous preparations, increased with the concentrations of vitamin A used.

Thermotropic behavior of glycosphingolipids in aqueous dispersions
Biochemistry, 1985The thermotropic behavior of 20 chemically related glycosphingolipids (GSLs) of high purity, containing neutral and anionic carbohydrate residues in their oligosaccharide chains, was studied by high-sensitivity differential scanning calorimetry. In general, the polar head group of GSLs appears to be one of the major determinants of their phase behavior.
