The interaction of Cations with Solutes in an Aqueous Solution. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Phys Chem B
Lithium ion batteries are important in a number of applications, and the demand for Lithium is expected to increase. In typical industrial Li+ extraction, brine is pumped to the surface of large reservoirs, followed by chemical treatment. This method requires large quantities of water and can pollute groundwater. There has been considerable interest in

Properties of compatible solutes in aqueous solution [PDF]

open access: yesBiophysical Chemistry, 2012
We have performed Molecular Dynamics simulations of ectoine, hydroxyectoine and urea in explicit solvent. Special attention has been spent on the local surrounding structure of water molecules. Our results indicate that ectoine and hydroxyectoine are able to accumulate more water molecules than urea by a pronounced ordering due to hydrogen bonds.

Methocarbamol Degradation in Aqueous Solution

open access: yesJournal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1994
The kinetics of the hydrolysis of methocarbamol to the corresponding diol guaifenesin in aqueous solution was studied. Methocarbamol was rather stable in acidic media but easily hydrolyzed in alkaline solution. The formation of an unknown compound, proved to be an isomer of methocarbamol [the 3-(2-methoxyphenoxy)-propanediol 2-carbamate] is involved ...
