Energy transfer in aqueous solution

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Biophysics including Photosynthesis, 1961
Abstract The photodecomposition of the polyene fungicide pimaricin and the photoisomerization of stilbene derivatives sensitized by riboflavin and lumichrome have been studied in aqueous solution. A triplet-triplet energy transfer is proposed as a mechanism for these reactions. The following observations support this mechanism.

Quinoline ozonation in aqueous solution

Water Research, 1990
Abstract The oxidation of quinoxaline by ozone in aqueous solution is investigated. The chemical and kinetic evolution of the oxidation process at varying pH are followed by means of semi-batch and batch ozonation experiments. Results indicate that quinoxaline ozonation can develop according to both radical and ionic mechanisms whose relative ...

Protein hydration in aqueous solution

Faraday Discuss., 1991
High-resolution proton nuclear magnetic resonance studies of protein hydration in aqueous solution show that there are two qualitatively different types of hydration sites. A well-defined, small number of water molecules in the interior of the protein are in identical locations in the crystal structure and in solution, and their residence ...
