S‐Scheme Charge Separation Enables Photocarrier‐Regulated Aqueous NH4+ Storage in g‐C3N4@WO3 Heterojunctions

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Light irradiation activates the g‐C3N4@WO3 S‐scheme heterojunction, where the built‐in electric field drives charge separation to generate high‐energy carriers, facilitating NH4+ adsorption and enhancing electron/ion transport for high‐capacity, stable aqueous NH4+ storage.

Natural Anionic Interfacial Reconstruction for Suppressing Pitting Corrosion Enables Durable Seawater Zinc‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
In situ electrochemically induced molecular sieve‐alginate interface layer can suppress chloride‐induced pitting corrosion, hydrogen evolution, and dendrite growth, while regulating zinc ion transport and deposition, thereby protecting the zinc anode in seawater electrolyte.

Application of MXene Materials in Aqueous Zinc-Ion Batteries

open access: yesAcademic Journal of Science and Technology
As the global requirement for renewable energy grows, zinc-ion batteries (AZIBs) are an ideal replacement for lithium-ion batteries due to their plentiful zinc resources, inexpensive, and high level of security. Nevertheless, the energy density, circulation reliability, and zinc dendrite formation issues of AZIBs limit their widespread application ...

Stabilizing Zinc Anodes via a Zeolite‐Induced Localized Supersaturated Electrolyte Interface

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A low‐Si/Al‐ratio ZSM‐5 (LZ5) interphase induces a localized supersaturated electrolyte interface on Zn, with a local Zn2+ concentration exceeding 10 M in a 1 M ZnSO4 bulk electrolyte. Continuous Zn2+ enrichment within the zeolite nanochannels creates an H2O‐deficient, anion‐enriched solvation environment, promoting rapid desolvation, uniform ...

Separating Hydrogen Evolution From Electroplating in Zn Metal Batteries Using Scanning Electrochemical Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Operando SECM decouples hydrogen evolution from other degradation pathways in Zn metal batteries by quantifying its contribution during Zn electrodeposition. Although HER is shown to account for only a minor fraction of the irreversible charge loss, it remains a key indicator of interfacial evolution and by‐product formation governing cycling ...
