Relationships between hornblende K-Ar ages, chemical composition and hydrogen isotopes, Connemara, western Ireland: evidence for a massive extinct hydrothermal system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Major element compositional analyses, K-Ar ages, deltaD parts per thousand and delta O-18 parts per thousand values for 30 zoned and unzoned hornblendes from Dalradian amphibolites and metagabbros. mostly in north Connemara are reported.

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

AR(1) model fit teaching hospitals.

open access: yes, 2014
Grey dots represent the weekly-observed CDI cases within the teaching hospitals from April 2008 to March 2012. X-axis: Week 0 corresponds to the first week of April 2008 and week 209 to the last week of March 2012.

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

High mobility group box 1 inhibition by BoxA attenuates ovalbumin-induced allergic rhinitis in mice

open access: yesAutoimmunity, 2022
This study was designed to evaluate the effects of BoxA on allergic rhinitis (AR). Ovalbumin (OVA)-induced AR mice model was employed and BoxA was administered to AR mice.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Assessing the carbon sink of afforestation with the Carbon Budget Model at the country level: an example for Italy

open access: yesiForest - Biogeosciences and Forestry, 2015
In the context of the Kyoto Protocol, the mandatory accounting of Afforestation and Reforestation (AR) activities requires estimating the forest carbon (C) stock changes for any direct human-induced expansion of forest since 1990.

Error process estimation of arch (1) model corrupted by ar(1) procees

open access: yes, 2007
We showed how autocovariance functions can be used to estimate the ARCH(1) process corrupted by AR(I) errors. we performed simulation studies to demonstrate our findings.

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Characterizing gait pattern dynamics during symmetric and asymmetric walking using autoregressive modeling.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
Gait asymmetry is often observed in populations with varying degrees of neuromuscular control. While changes in vertical ground reaction force (vGRF) peak magnitude are associated with altered limb loading that can be observed during asymmetric gait, the
