Belowground biomass decomposition is driven by chemical composition in subtropical pastures and native rangelands

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 3, Issue 1, 2020., 2020
Abstract Litter decomposition, particularly from belowground pools, is a key process controlling the flow of nutrients and the sustainability of native and cultivated grazinglands. This study evaluated in situ belowground decomposition of saw‐palmetto (Serenoa repens [W.

Morphological traits as variety descriptors of Arachis pintoi

open access: yesCropp Breeding and Applied Biotechnology, 2007
Arachis pintoi is outstanding in the present agricultural scenery for adapting well to varied environments andin view of its high yield of quality fodder. It is therefore used as forage crop in different countries. In the last 15 years, morethan ten cultivars were released in different countries; none of them is protected in Brazil.

Crescimento de gramíneas e leguminosas forrageiras tropicais sob sombreamento Growth of tropical forage grasses and legumes under shade

Marandu, B. humidicola cv. Quicuio-da-amazônia, Panicum maximum cv.

Response of Axonopus catarinensis and Arachis pintoi to shade conditions

open access: yesTropical Grasslands - Forrajes Tropicales, 2014
In the northeast of Argentina, there are more than 100,000 ha of silvopastoral systems, where trees, forages and livestock are combined with the goal to diversify income, reduce financial risk, obtain more profit and enhance environmental benefit (Cubbage et al. 2012).

Somatic embryogenesis and plant regeneration in diploid and triploid Arachis pintoi

open access: yesBiologia plantarum, 2006
Plants of two cytotypes (2n=2x=20, and 2n=3x=30) of pinto peanut (Arachis pintoi Krapov. & W.C. Gregory) were regenerated through somatic embryogenesis. Embryogenic calli were induced from shoot tips or immature leaves dissected from in vitro growing plants.

Utilizing Wild Species for Peanut Improvement

open access: yesCrop Science, Volume 57, Issue 3, Page 1102-1120, May–June 2017., 2017
The cultivated peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is an allotetraploid species with a very large and complex genome. This species is susceptible to numerous foliar and soil‐borne diseases for which only moderate levels of resistance have been identified in the germplasm collection, but several of the 81 wild species are extremely resistant to many ...

Allelopathic Activity of Extracts from Different Brazilian Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) Cultivars on Lettuce (Lactuca sativa) and Weed Plants

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, Volume 2017, Issue 1, 2017., 2017
Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is the fourth most consumed oleaginous plant in the world, producing seeds with high contents of lipids, proteins, vitamins, and carbohydrates. Biological activities of different extracts of this species have already been evaluated by many researchers, including antioxidant, antitumoral, and antibacterial. In this work, the

Fighting weeds in mono-cultures of forage peanut (Arachis pintoi).
