Cervical arachnoid cyst mimicking the cause of cervical radiculopathy: A case report

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Neurosurgery, 2017
We herein present a case involving an asymptomatic cervical intradural arachnoid cyst that was suspected to be the cause of the patient's radicular pain. Magnetic resonance imaging showed a small, round intradural mass beside the cervical nerve root.

Anatomy of Soft Tissues of the Spinal Canal [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Background and Objectives. Important issues regarding the spread of solutions in the epidural space and the anatomy of the site of action of spinal and epidural injections are unresolved.

Functional and Structural Evidence of Neurofluid Circuit Aberrations in Huntington Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Disrupted neurofluid regulation may contribute to neurodegeneration in Huntington disease (HD). Because neurofluid pathways influence waste clearance, inflammation, and the distribution of central nervous system (CNS)–delivered therapeutics, understanding their dysfunction is increasingly important as targeted treatments emerge.

3D (Bio) Printing Combined Fiber Fabrication Methods for Tissue Engineering Applications: Possibilities and Limitations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

Intraparenchymal supratentorial arachnoid cyst: a case report

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Neurosurgery, 2019
Background Intracranial arachnoid cysts are collections of cerebrospinal fluid within the arachnoid membrane and subarachnoid space of the cisterns and major cerebral fissures that account for about 1% of all intracranial lesions.

3D‐Printed Porous Hydroxyapatite Formed via Enzymatic Mineralization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bone combines lightness, strength, and the ability to heal, inspiring new materials design. This work introduces a room‐temperature, enzyme‐mediated 3D printing method to create porous hydroxyapatite scaffolds. The process avoids energy‐intensive sintering, preserves bioactivity, and allows control over porosity and mineralization.

Hemianopia: A complication of epidural injection in a patient with arachnoid cyst – case report

open access: yesSAGE Open Medical Case Reports, 2023
Epidural injections are routinely used for short-term management of radicular pain and chronic low back pain. Prescription of this intervention, in the presence of intracranial abnormalities, is a topic of debate.

The Terminal Domains of Collagen‐Like Silk Direct Molecular Interactions and Liquid–Liquid Phase Separation‐Mediated Material Assembly

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Terminal domains of recombinant collagen‐like silk regulate hierarchical self‐assembly across molecular and material scales. We show that terminal domains of collagen‐like silk enhance triple‐helix stability and drive liquid–liquid phase separation, enabling reversible formation of fibers and self‐healing films.

Pupil-sparing third cranial nerve palsy with aberrant regeneration secondary to cavernous sinus arachnoid cyst

open access: yeseNeurologicalSci, 2019
A 66 year-old woman presented with a pupil-sparing partial third cranial nerve palsy with aberrant regeneration. Imaging revealed a cystic lesion in the right cavernous sinus, demonstrating signal characteristics consistent with arachnoid cyst ...

Spinal Cord Trauma: An Overview of Normal Structure and Function, Primary and Secondary Mechanisms of Injury, and Emerging Treatment Modalities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The structures of the spinal cord and vertebral column are designed to provide flexibility, while still providing ample protection for the spinal cord deep within.
