Wood natural resistance of seven forest species to white rot caused by Pycnoporus sanguineus [PDF]
This research evaluated the natural resistance of: Platanus x acerifolia, Luehea divaricate, Carya illinoinensis, Peltophorum dubium, Araucaria angustifolia, Eucalyptus grandis and Hovenia dulcis, to accelerated decay of the white-rot fungus Pycnoporus ...

This study examined the phylogenetic conservatism of flowering and fruiting in 78 climbing plant species relative to environmental gradients in a South Brazilian forest. Although species‐level analysis found a weak phylogenetic signal, a strong influence was detected at the assemblage scale, revealing that evolutionary history mediates the phenology ...

Endophytic fungi associated with Araucaria angustifolia (Bertol.) Kuntze
The diversity of endophytes and their ecological relationships with the endangered conifer Araucaria angustifolia (a critically endangered species) are unrevealed. This study aimed to characterize the diversity of endophytic fungi associated with A. angustifolia.

Grafting of Araucaria angustifolia (BERTOL.) kuntze through the four seasons of the year
Araucaria angustifolia is an endangered conifer species of South America that has been over exploited for timber. To incentivize Araucaria angustifolia planting is essential and may play a key role on the conservation of this species and the ecosystems ...

Aerial sketchmapping for monitoring forest conditions in Southern Brazil. [PDF]
Aerial sketchmapping is a simple, low cost remote sensing method used for detection and mapping of forest damage caused by biotic agents (insects, pathogens and other pests) and abiotic agents (wind, fire, storms, hurricane, ice storms) in North America.

Ecological strategies reflect the mechanisms used for species to sustain a population. Predicting plant growth in ecological communities is crucial, especially with climate change impacting ecosystem functioning. By employing a large dataset for the subtropical Brazilian Atlantic Forest (BAF), we evaluated whether species' relative growth rates (RGR ...

Density of Araucaria angustifolia wood from overstocked stand
The aim of this work was to evaluate the radial and longitudinal variations of wood specific gravity in an overstocked stand of Araucaria angustifolia, with 65 years. The stand was located in the National Forest of Açungui, Campo Largo, Parana State, Brazil, with thinning recorded between 1970 and 1980, without subsequent thinnings.

BIOMASSA E CARBONO ORGÂNICO EM POVOAMENTOS DE Araucaria angustifolia (Bertol.) Kuntze
The objective was to estimate the biomass and organic carbon in Araucaria angustifolia stands with different ages. The Araucaria angustifolia stands studied were not pruning but were thinning in difference ages.
