Nutrient Dynamics in a Coupled Terrestrial Biosphere and Land Model (ELM‐FATES‐CNP)

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2024.
Abstract We present a representation of nitrogen and phosphorus cycling in the Functionally Assembled Terrestrial Ecosystem Simulator, a demographic vegetation model within the Energy Exascale Earth System land model. This representation is modular, and designed to allow testing of multiple hypothetical approaches for carbon‐nutrient coupling in plants.

Estimation of global vehicular methyl bromide emissions: Extrapolation from a case study in Santiago, Chile [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Between June 1 and June 8, 1996, 144 whole air samples were collected in Santiago, Chile. The temporal and geographical enhancement of CH3Br correlated with incomplete combustion tracers emitted from vehicles during the morning commute.

Modeling soil organic carbon change in croplands of China [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Using 1990 conditions, we modeled carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) biogeochemical cycles in croplands of China (and, for comparison, the United States) to estimate the annual soil organic-carbon (SOC) balance for all cropland.

Pollution reduction technology program for small jet aircraft engines: Class T1 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977
Small jet aircraft engines (EPA class T1, turbojet and turbofan engines of less than 35.6 kN thrust) were evaluated with the objective of attaining emissions reduction consistent with performance constraints.

Keeping the Government Whole: The Impact of a Cap-and-Dividend Policy for Curbing Global Warming on Government Revenue and Expenditure [PDF]

open access: yes
When the United States puts a cap on carbon emissions as part of the effort to address the problem of global climate change, this will increase the prices of fossil fuels, significantly impacting not only consumers but also local, state, and federal ...

Experimental and theoretical study of the thermal decomposition of ethyl acetate during fast pyrolysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The thermal decomposition of ethyl acetate was experimentally studied in a newly designed fast pyrolysis set-up. The results were compared to theoretical calculations and literature values in order to proof the experimental concept.
