Drought Risk in Mango and Avocado Orchards: Insights Into Plant Water Relations and Irrigation‐Related Agronomic Solutions

open access: yesIrrigation and Drainage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Climate change is making water availability more uncertain, with growing consequences for the productivity and long‐term sustainability of tropical and subtropical fruit orchards. Mangifera indica L. and Persea americana Mill. both require large amounts of water to sustain growth and productivity.

MICROBIAL INTERACTIONS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE BIOMASS OF GLIRICIDIA

open access: yesRevista Caatinga, 2018
The objective of this work was to evaluate the interaction of microorganisms and phosphorus dosages in the development of gliricidia. The experimental design was completely randomized with six treatments (control, native microbial inoculant, and four ...

Cellular anatomy of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi.

open access: yesCurr Biol
Arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi are ancient plant mutualists that are ubiquitous across terrestrial ecosystems. These fungi are unique among most eukaryotes because they form multinucleate, open-pipe mycelial networks, where nutrients, organelles, and chemical signals move bidirectionally across a continuous cytoplasm. AM fungi play a crucial role in

Seasonal Dynamics of Soil Multitrophic Biodiversity, Co‐Occurrence Network and Assembly Mechanisms Under Typical Vegetation Restoration Patterns in Karst Region

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Previous studies often overlooked the dynamic effects of karst vegetation restoration on soil multi‐trophic biodiversity and the underlying community‐assembly mechanisms. To fill this gap, we performed a seasonal comparative analysis of soil biodiversity, co‐occurrence network architecture, and assembly processes across three representative ...

Phosphorus and nitrogen regulate arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis in Petunia hybrida. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Phosphorus and nitrogen are essential nutrient elements that are needed by plants in large amounts. The arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis between plants and soil fungi improves phosphorus and nitrogen acquisition under limiting conditions.

Strigolactone signaling: Licensing antiviral RNA interference in rice

open access: yesNew Plant Protection, EarlyView.
Rice grassy stunt virus (RGSV) suppresses strigolactone‐mediated antiviral RNAi through P3‐D14 interaction. Structure‐guided D14D102N editing disrupts P3 binding while maintaining SL signaling, sustaining antiviral defense and providing strong resistance without compromising plant growth or yield.

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and colonization stimulant in cotton and maize

open access: yesCiência Rural
: The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of inoculation with different arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi native to Cerrado, associated with the application of colonization stimulant (7-hydroxy, 4’-methoxy-isoflavone) at the initial growth of ...

Range‐wide sampling reveals cryptic lineages but largely conserved mycorrhizal associations in the Japanese fairy lantern Thismia kobensis

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
The jewel‐like flowers of Thismia are as rare as they are beautiful, often recorded from only a single site per species. Access to 15 populations of T. kobensis has enabled an uncommon, range‐wide assessment of morphology, genetics, and fungal partners. Our analyses showed that T.

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and mycorrhizal stimulant affect dry matter and nutrient accumulation in bean and soybean plants

open access: yesPesquisa Agropecuária Tropical, 2016
The adoption of biological resources in agriculture may allow less dependence and better use of finite resources. This study aimed at evaluating the effects of inoculation with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi native to the Brazilian Savannah associated with

Epiparasitic plants specialized on arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 2002
Over 400 non-photosynthetic species from 10 families of vascular plants obtain their carbon from fungi and are thus defined as myco-heterotrophs. Many of these plants are epiparasitic on green plants from which they obtain carbon by 'cheating' shared mycorrhizal fungi.
