High Energy Density Asymmetric Aqueous Supercapacitor Based on a 2D Manganese Carbide as a Positive Electrode

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A circular route, involving upcycling of waste surgical masks, affords a Mn‐based layered carbide with porosity, redox activity and low work function. These features enable its effective operation as positive supercapacitor electrode in an aqueous asymmetric supercapacitor delivering 213 Wh L−1 energy density.

A Comparison of Dental Arch Width and Length on 3D Digital and Plaster Models

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The aim of the study was to determine potential deviation in measurements of commonly used orthodontic variables, including intermolar width (IMW), intercanine width (ICW), and arch perimeter (AP), when measured on three-dimensional images compared to ...

MODELING EXCHANGE RATES USING ARCH FAMILY OF MODELS [PDF]

open access: yesChallenges of the Knowledge Society, 2016
In this study, after a brief literature review, the RON / EURO exchange rate time series over the 03.01.2005 - 05.02.2015 time period is analyzed. After checking the stationarity of the data - ARCH, GARCH, EGARCH and TARCH models will be developed and ...

Accelerated Discovery of High Performance Ni3S4/Ni3Mo HER Catalysts via Bayesian Optimization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Integrated workflow accelerates the catalyst discovery of hydrogen evolution reaction via Bayesian optimization. An experiment‐trained surrogate model proposes synthesis conditions, guiding iterative refinement using electrochemical performance metrics.

External Reflection From Two‐Photon Laser‐Printed Micromirrors Enables Photomechanical Actuation at a 90° Incident Angle

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Light reflectance increases along incidence angle and transmittance significantly drops around 90‐degree incidence angle. Here, we report two‐photon laser printed micro mirrors that redirect the skimming light beam into normal light absorption. Using this technique, light‐driven micro walkers and grippers are demonstrated by using grazing incidence ...

Liquidity Measurement Based on Bid-Ask Spread, Trading Frequency, and Liquidity Ratio: The Use of GARCH Model on Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper attempts to investigate and clarify previous studies on market liquidity measurement, which involve Bid-Ask Spread, Trading Frequency, and Liquidity Ratio variables. To strengthen our findings, we employ Volatility Models of ARCH and GARCH, as

Nucleation‐Controlled Reconstruction of CuOx for Selective CO2 Electroreduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The ratio of oxygen vacancies (Ov) and exposed Cu2O (111)/(200) of CuOx precatalyst is modulated by nucleation control of Cu(OH)2 precursor. Low Ov ratio and high ratio of Cu2O (111)/(200) in slow‐nucleated CuOx reconstructs to high‐coordinated oxide‐derived copper (OD‐Cu) during electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) and exhibits enhanced ...

Can a Lucas model with habit generate realistic conditional volatility in exchange rate returns? [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper, we attempt to give a theoretical underpinning to the well established empirical stylized fact that asset returns in general and the spot FOREX returns in particular display predictable volatility characteristics. Adopting Moore and Roche.s

Prenucleation Species Dictate Foreign Ion Incorporation in the Biomineral Precursor Amorphous Calcium Carbonate

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ACC forms via aggregating prenucleation clusters that gatekeep its chemical composition. Ion identity steers the path: Ba and Sr substitute Ca in clusters, thereby inhibiting nucleation, with a dose‐dependent switch of Sr to induction. Mg partitions into Mg‐rich and Mg‐poor clusters; the latter form ACC, expelling Mg.

Asymptotically Optimal Tests when Parameters are Estimated

open access: yes, 2011
The main purpose of this paper is to provide an asymptotically optimal test. The proposed statistic is of Neyman-Pearson-type when the parameters are estimated with a particular kind of estimators.
