Development of virtual reality on material: Archimedes’ Law (VIRMA) to improve student learning outcomes

open access: yesJurnal Inovasi Teknologi Pendidikan, 2023
The development of this Virtual Reality (VR) with an artificial environment consisting of scenes and 3D objects is expected to be a problem solution from a low conceptual understanding of Archimedes' Law material. This study aims to make physics learning media with Virtual Reality on Archimedes' Law (VIRMA) material.

An assessment of stress and production rate of sucker rod heat pipes in oil well pumping system

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
The sucker rod pumping system is the preferred oil extraction technique. The concept about equipping the hollow vacuum space in solid sucker rods with heat pipe has been scrutinized in terms of stress and oil production evaluation. Abstract The implementation of the heat pipe concept in sucker rods for oil pumping systems negates the requirement for an

Wireless Sensor Node for Surface Seawater Density Measurements

open access: yesSensors, 2012
An electronic meter to measure surface seawater density is presented. It is based on the measurement of the difference in displacements of a surface level probe and a weighted float, which according to Archimedes’ law depends on the density of the water.

Wide Temperature Zero Thermal Expansion in Al Matrix Composites with High Thermal Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 45, 13 August 2026.
Strain engineering strategy is implemented on the negative thermal expansion (NTE) phase Zn1.6Mg0.4P2O7 within composites, where Al matrix‐induced compressive strain drives uniform polyhedral and unit cell evolution, thereby enabling broad and consistent thermal compensation efficacy and obtaining good thermal performance.

Optimizing Cf/ZrB2–SiC Composites for Aerospace TPS via Density‐Normalized Performance

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Ceramic Technology, Volume 23, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT In this study, the mechanical performance of ZrB2–SiC‐based carbon fiber‐reinforced composites was evaluated using a design‐oriented framework, focusing on the effects of fiber architecture (long/short fibers) and rheology modifier (RM) addition.

Resolving Basis Dependence in Point‐Defect Scattering Models for Thermal Conductivity in Multi‐Sublattice Ceramics

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Alloying is a widely used strategy for reducing lattice thermal conductivity through phonon scattering induced by mass and strain fluctuations. However, the evaluation of disorder‐scattering parameters in multi‐sublattice compounds remains inconsistent because both atomic‐ and unit‐cell‐based formulations are used in the literature.

Textured Piezoelectric Ceramics Printed With Baffled Nozzles

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 8, August 2026.
To better align platelet particles in additively manufactured textured ceramics, baffled nozzles were simulated and tested. The simulation included a novel CFD heuristic that considers the entire print path. Printed parts were characterized via microscopy, X‐ray diffraction, and electromechanically and results were compared to the simulation, finding ...

High Thermoelectric Performance Achieved by Manipulating the Band Structure and Lattice Dislocations in n‐Type Ge/Pb/Br Codoped Polycrystalline SnSe

open access: yesCarbon Energy, Volume 8, Issue 7, July 2026.
Pb/Ge/Br codoping in n‐type polycrystalline SnSe induces band convergence and high‐density dislocations, yielding a high power factor of 7.47 μW cm−1 K−2 and ultralow lattice thermal conductivity. Consequently, a peak ZT of 1.6 is achieved, overcoming the traditional performance limitations of n‐type SnSe.
