First record of the family Diplommatinidae Gray, 1847 (Gastropoda: Architaenioglossa) from Ecuador with description of a new Adelopoma Doering, 1885

Zootaxa, 2023
Diplommatinidae Gray, 1847, a family of minute cyclophoroid gastropods, is recorded from Ecuador for the first time. Adelopoma gracile Greķe, sp. nov. is described and illustrated from River Pastaza valley, central Ecuador. Differential diagnosis is provided for similar congeners. An annotated checklist of and a preliminary key to the Adelopoma Doering,

Predation by the carrion crow Corvus corone (Passeriformes: Corvidae) on the apple snail Pomacea canaliculata (Architaenioglossa: Ampullariidae) in different locations in Japan

Applied Entomology and Zoology, 2021
Alien species are exposed to novel species interactions in invaded ecosystems, and predators are important components of biotic resistance against aliens. The apple snail Pomacea canaliculata (Lamarck) (Architaenioglossa: Ampullariidae) was introduced to many countries, and causes severe problems including damage to young rice plants. Biotic resistance

Effects of ambient temperature and the mud snail Cipangopaludina chinensis laeta (Architaenioglossa: Viviparidae) on performance of rice plants

Applied Entomology and Zoology, 2017
A factorial experiment was conducted in 2015 to assess the effects of ambient temperature and the presence of the mud snail, Cipangopaludina chinensis laeta (Martens) (Architaenioglossa: Viviparidae), on rice plant performance. The presence of mud snails resulted in significantly increased rice plant height and SPAD value (reflecting leaf color ...

Haemolymph plasma constituents of the invasive snail Pomacea canaliculata (Caenogastropoda, Architaenioglossa, Ampullariidae)

Molluscan Research, 2011
Haemolymph plasma constituents were studied in Pomacea canaliculata. Osmolality, pH, electrolytes, two metals, monosac-charides, total proteins, free amino acids and other nitrogen compounds were measured. Glucose, but not galactose, was detected in plasma. Cations found (in decreasing order) were sodium, calcium, potassium and magnesium.

Effects of a mud snail Cipangopaludina chinensis laeta (Architaenioglossa: Viviparidae) on the abundance of terrestrial arthropods through rice plant development in a paddy field

Applied Entomology and Zoology, 2016
The effects of a mud snail, Cipangopaludina chinensis laeta (Martens) (Architaenioglossa: Viviparidae), on terrestrial arthropods through rice plant development in a paddy field were investigated in 2013 and 2014 by a field experiment. There were no significant differences between treatments in the abundance of aquatic organisms, which comprised ...

Carbohydrates and glycoforms of the major egg perivitellins from Pomacea apple snails (Architaenioglossa: Ampullariidae)

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 2010
To better understand how glycans contribute to the multiple roles of perivitellins in embryo development, the carbohydrate moieties and glycoforms of the carotenoglycoproteins ovorubin and scalarin from the eggs of Pomaceacanaliculata (Lamarck, 1822) and Pomaceascalaris (d'Orbigny, 1835) were studied.
