Conversion of scanned documents to the open document architecture
Proceedings of ICASSP '94. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing, 2002The paper presents a system for the conversion of scanned documents into the open document architecture. Unlike previous work in this field the authors use a combination of evidence sources to achieve greater robustness to document defects and noise introduced in the scanning process.

Documenting a Computer Architecture
IBM Journal of Research and Development, 1983The documentation of a computer architecture requires that special conditions be satisfied in its preparation to ensure exactness, consistency, and completeness. One group in IBM, Central Systems Architecture, has spent many years refining procedures for producing quality documentation of this type, most notably for the System/370 architecture and the ...

A proposal of multimedia document architecture and video document architecture
ICC 91 International Conference on Communications Conference Record, 2002The concepts of MDA, multimedia document architecture, and VDA, video document architecture, are proposed. Harmonization with existing multimedia architectures and integration of media are described, introducing a multimedia space. A multimedia meta-structure is centered in this multimedia space. A projection of the meta-structure to an axis or a plane

Development of document architecture extraction
Systems and Computers in Japan, 1994AbstractThe purpose of this study is the reduction of the burden in the document structurization process. A technique is presented for extracting the document architecture. As the technical document, 12,000 articles are extracted from the proceedings of a national convention.

A negotiation architecture for fluid documents
Proceedings of the 11th annual ACM symposium on User interface software and technology, 1998The information presented in a document often consists of primary content as well as supporting material such as explanatory notes, detailed derivations, illustrations, and the like. We introduce a class of user interface techniques for fluid documents that supports the reader’s shift to supporting material while maintaining the context of the primary ...

Software Architecture Documentation in Practice: Documenting Architectural Layers
2018This report represents the first milestone of a work in progress. That work is a comprehensive handbook on how to produce high-quality documentation for software architectures. The handbook, tentatively entitled Software Architecture Documentation in Practice, will be published in mid- to late-2000 by Addison Wesley Longman as a book in the SEI series ...

System Architecture Induces Document Architecture. [PDF]
The documentation of an architecture is as important as the architecture itself. Tasked with communicating the structure and behaviour of a system and its constituent components to various stakeholders, the documentation is not trivial to produce.

Document architecture and text formatting
ACM Transactions on Information Systems, 1985The formalization of the architecture of documents and text formatting are the central issues of this paper. Besides a fundamental and theoretical approach toward these topics, an overview is presented of the COBATEF system. The COBATEF system is a context-based text formatting system, for which a software, as well as a hardware, implementation is ...
