The reconstruction of drawn architecture

open access: yesStudies in Digital Heritage, 2017
Among the many cases concerning the process of digital hypothetical 3D reconstruction a particular case is constituted by never realized projects and plans. They constitute projects designed and remained on paper that, albeit documented by technical drawings, they pose the typical problems that are common to all other cases.

Noncontextuality with marginal selectivity in reconstructing mental architectures [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2015
We present a general theory of series-parallel mental architectures with selectively influenced stochastically non-independent components. A mental architecture is a hypothetical network of processes aimed at performing a task, of which we only observe the overall time it takes under variable parameters of the task.

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Damage Information Mapping from Images to BIM Models for the Detection of Ancient Stone Bridges [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences
Ancient stone bridges, as precious cultural heritage, carrying the deep historical memory and craft traditions of the Chinese nation, are susceptible to spalling, cracks and other damages due to the long-term impact of traffic load, environmental erosion,

RoundMi: A quantitative method to analyze mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoundMi is a workflow for rapid analysis of mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells. By combining adaptive preprocessing with automated segmentation and quantification, it enables accurate measurements from single focal plane images, reducing acquisition time and computational demands while remaining compatible with high‐throughput fixed and live ...

Structural studies and functional engineering of NanX: an anhydro‐sialic acid transporter from Escherichia coli

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Biophysical characterisation shows that NanX, a membrane transport protein from the major facilitator superfamily (MFS), forms both monomers and dimers after purification. AlphaFold modelling and substrate docking provide information on residues likely involved in substrate recognition for NanX and another MFS member, NanT.

A Hybrid Deep Learning and Rule-Based Method for Architectural Drawing Vectorization and CAD Reconstruction

open access: yesBuildings
A large number of architectural drawings have historically existed in paper form or as non-editable raster images, which makes them difficult to directly support information reuse and digital management, while manual CAD reconstruction is time-consuming ...

Hyperspectral Prediction Model for Mixed Salts on the Surfaces of Temple Murals in Northern China Based on Simulated Samples [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences
Murals are invaluable treasures of human civilization, yet they face irreversible damage from salt migration and crystallization caused by environmental fluctuations.

Aging Is a Key Driver for Adult Acute Myeloid Leukemia

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a classical age‐related hematologic malignancy, and a key driver of AML is aging, which profoundly regulates intrinsic factors such as genomic instability, epigenetic reprogramming, and metabolic dysregulation, and alters bone marrow microenvironment.

Virtual Restoration of Cracks in Murals Based on Maximum Entropy Thresholding and Planar Structure Information [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences
Ancient murals, as invaluable cultural heritage, carry profound historical and cultural significance. However, they are often subjected to environmental factors such as temperature fluctuations, humidity, and seismic activity, which frequently result in ...
