Improving Access to Archival Collections with Automated Entity Extraction

open access: yesCode4Lib Journal, 2015
The complexity and diversity of archival resources make constructing rich metadata records time consuming and expensive, which in turn limits access to these valuable materials.

Highly Resolved Community Sewage Metagenomics Unveiling Landscape and Transmission Patterns of Antibiotic Resistome in Hong Kong Populations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A large‐scale, high‐resolution antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance in Hong Kong community sewage combining short‐ and long‐read sequencing. The resistome profile is comprehensively characterized, and this upstream sampling strategy demonstrated superiority in reflecting the human gut resistome.

Single‐Cell RNA Sequencing of Human Lung Tissues Reveals Metallothionein‐Positive T Cells as a Novel Potential Marker of Susceptibility to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using single‐cell RNA sequencing of lung samples and flow cytometry of peripheral blood, we identified a novel T cell subset with high metallothionein (MT) expression. These MT‐high T cells suppress CD8+ T cell cytotoxicity and are progressively depleted from healthy controls to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients, positioning them as

Divergent Responses of Bacterial Communities to Permafrost Degradation and Their Associations With Carbon Across Vertical Profiles

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Bacterial α‐diversity decreases, but stochasticity and community stability increase across the 15 m‐depth vertical profiles and along the degraded gradient within the active layer. The abundance and interaction of core taxa mainly control community stability in the active and permafrost layers, respectively.

A Survey on Capabilities of UNIMARC and IRANMARC for Archival Recourses Management on the Basis of Specialists Viewpoints

open access: yesInternational Journal of Information Science and Management, 2014
If archival centers organize archival resources on the basis of safe and global archivalstandards, then they will be useful for scholars. Bibliographic relations are important and essential in organizing and managing of archives.

B4GALNT4‐Mediated Glycosylation of PDK1 Activates the PI3K‐AKT Signaling Pathway to Promote Prostate Cancer Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies B4GALNT4 as a key driver of prostate cancer (PCa). It shows that B4GALNT4 glycosylates PDK1 protein at the N531 site, which stabilizes the PDK1 and constitutively activates the PI3K‐AKT pathway. This mechanism promotes tumor cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. The findings establish the B4GALNT4‐PDK1 glycosylation axis as

CDK4/6 Inhibition Induces CD8+ T Cell Antitumor Immunity via MIF‐Induced Functional Orchestration of Tumor‐Associated Macrophages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CDK4/6 inhibition promotes CD8+ T cell expansion through tumor‐macrophage crosstalk by activating HIF‐1α and enhancing MIF‐CD44/CD74 signaling. This reprograms TAMs to boost MHC‐I antigen presentation, and CDK4/6 inhibitor‐trained M1 TAM supernatant therapy synergizes with low‐dose PD‐1 blockade to restore antitumor immunity.
