Multi-Step Ahead Ex-Ante Forecasting of Air Pollutants Using Machine Learning

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
In this study, a novel general multi-step ahead strategy is developed for forecasting time series of air pollutants. The values of the predictors at future moments are gathered from official weather forecast sites as independent ex-ante data.

Arc‐Disjoint Cycles and Feedback Arc Sets [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Graph Theory, 2013
AbstractIsaak posed the following problem. Suppose T is a tournament having a minimum feedback arc set, which induces an acyclic digraph with a hamiltonian path. Is it true that the maximum number of arc‐disjoint cycles in T equals the cardinality of minimum feedback arc set of T? We prove that the answer to the problem is in the negative.

A Fast Prediction Method for the Electromagnetic Response of the LTE-R System Based on a PSO-BP Cascade Neural Network Model

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
In this paper, a fast prediction model of the electromagnetic response of the LTE-R (Long Term Evolution for Railway) communication system based on a cascade neural network is developed to quickly analyze the impact of pantograph arcing on the LTE-R ...

Kalman filter and a fuzzy logic processor for series arcing fault detection in a home electrical network

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems, 2019
This paper presents a method for detecting series arcing faults in AC home electrical networks. The proposed algorithm is based on both a Kalman filter, used for identifying fault symptoms and a decision block, which confirms the presence of a series arc

Arc-analyticity and polynomial arcs [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Polonici Mathematici, 2004
The author gives an elegant proof that for subanalytic functions the three notions of arc-analyticity, local blow-analyticity and analyticity on restriction to polynomial arcs coincide. The paper is short and very well written.

Classification of multiple electromagnetic interference events in high-voltage power plant [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This paper addresses condition assessment of electrical assets contained in high voltage power plants. Our work introduces a novel analysis approach of multiple event signals related to faults, and which are measured using Electro-Magnetic Interference ...

Parameters affecting the arcing time of HVDC circuit breakers using black box arc model

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2019
Arc interruption of high voltage direct current (HVDC) circuit breakers (CBs) is one of the main challenging factors for using HVDC grids. To evaluate the arc interrupting capability in HVDC CBs, black box arc models are used to represent the nonlinear ...
