Quasi‐Static to Supersonic Energy Absorption of Nanoarchitected Tubulanes and Schwarzites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoarchitected energy‐absorptive Tubulanes exhibit record energy absorption under quasi‐static conditions and exceptional inelastic energy dissipation under 750 m s−1 ballistics impact, with high performance spanning strain rates of 12 orders of magnitude.

Organic acids and selected nitrogen species for ABLE-3 [PDF]

open access: yes
The NASA Global Tropospheric Experiment (GTE) executed airborne science missions aboard the NASA Wallops Electra (NA429) in the North American high latitude (greater than 45 deg North) atmosphere during Jul. to Aug. 1988 and Jul. to Aug. 1990.

VIVID: A qPCR‐Based Platform for Sensitive and Quantitative In Vivo Tracking of Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces VIVID (Vesicle In Vivo Identification using DNA), a qPCR‐based platform that tracks PCR‐amplifiable DNA tags loaded in the EVs for accurate and quantifiable EV biodistribution in vivo. ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) represent promising carriers for nucleic acid therapeutics, offering advantages over synthetic nanoparticles ...

Moisture Fluxes Derived from EOS Aqua Satellite Data for the North Water Polynya Over 2003-2009 [PDF]

open access: yes
Satellite data were applied to calculate the moisture flux from the North Water polynya during a series of events spanning 2003-2009. The fluxes were calculated using bulk aerodynamic formulas with the stability effects according to the Monin-Obukhov ...

Fractures in Arctic Winter Pack Ice (North Water, Northern Baffin Bay)

open access: yesAnnals of Glaciology, 1987
Profiles of the ice cover in the North Water area were obtained in the winter of 1980/81 by using low-level infrared thermometry. The flight measurements were carried out from December to March. The statistical analysis of the sea ice surface temperature was carried out to yield distributions, frequencies and widths of fractures.

Bio‐Inspired Molecular Events in Poly(Ionic Liquids)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Originating from dipolar and polar inter‐ and intra‐chain interactions of the building blocks, the topologies and morphologies of poly(ionic liquids) (PIL) govern their nano‐ and micro‐processibility. Modulating the interactions of cation‐anion pairs with aliphatic dipolar components enables the tunability of properties, facilitated by “bottom‐up ...

The operational determination of wind stress on the Arctic ice pack

open access: yes, 1977
Abstract : The performance of routine FNWC sea level pressure analyses and forecasts in the Beaufort Sea is evaluated for driving an ice model. The geostrophic winds determined from the FNWC pressure fields are compared to geostrophic winds determined from the AIDJEX experiment observations.

Organometallic Precursor‐Induced Gradient Architecture on Multilayer Nanoporous Graphene Membranes for Precise Organic Solvent Nanofiltration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Alumina growth narrows surface pores and seals non‐selective defects, enhancing selectivity while preserving the nanoporous graphene architecture. Additionally, the deposition enables gradient‐controlled structural modification, with intergrown alumina acting as a physical cross‐linker that stabilizes the laminar structure.

Comparison of environmental conditions in the Bering Sea and Davis Strait and the effects on microwave signature returns; March and April, 1979 [PDF]

open access: yes
Aircraft data collected in the Bering Sea in March, 1979 using a 6.6 GH sub z (C Band) microwave radiometer and a 13.9 GH sub z (Ku Band) scatterometer, reinforce the difficulties in interpreting first year ice types found near the ice edge in a marginal
