Targeted Delivery of GLUT1 Inhibitor via Macrophage Nanovesicles for Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Therapy

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 15, Issue 5, May 2026.
Mac@WZB117 to target M1 macrophage glycolysis, remodel the immune microenvironment, and attenuate vascular remodelling in PAH. ABSTRACT Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is a lethal disease characterized by inflammation‐driven vascular remodelling, with a lack of precise intervention strategies targeting pro‐inflammatory M1 macrophages' glycolytic ...

Extracellular Vesicles in Osteoarthritis: From Pathogenic Mediators to Engineered Therapeutics in a Precision Medicine Roadmap

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Biology, Volume 5, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Osteoarthritis (OA) remains without disease‐modifying sssstherapies, in part due to biological heterogeneity and a hostile joint microenvironment that undermines one‐size‐fits‐all interventions. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) play a dual role in OA pathophysiology: endogenous EVs disseminate pro‐inflammatory and catabolic signals that propagate ...

Robust Bioconjugated Antigens Induce Immune Responses Preventing Malaria Infection and its Transmission

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 28, 18 May 2026.
Engineered malaria antigens enable in vivo bioconjugation to submicron biopolymer particles in E. coli. Two antigens are co‐tethered at high density and defined stoichiometry. The resulting thermostable particles elicit strong, durable antibody and T‐cell responses, conferring robust protection and blocking mosquito transmission.

Soil Carbon Stocks in Fijian Seagrass: Environmental Drivers, National Inventories, and Implications for Blue Carbon Accounting in Small Island Settings

open access: yesGlobal Biogeochemical Cycles, Volume 40, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Pacific island seagrass systems remain critically underrepresented in global blue carbon assessments despite their potential significance for climate mitigation. We present the first national‐scale assessment of seagrass soil carbon stocks for a Pacific island nation based on 135 sediment cores from 47 sites across Fiji.
