CALL BROADCASTING AND AUTOMATED RECORDERS AS TOOLS FOR ANURAN SURVEYS IN A SUBARCTIC TUNDRA LANDSCAPE [PDF]
Relatively little is known about population ecology of anurans in arctic and subarctic tundra regions, in part because it is difficult to survey anurans in these landscapes.

Inhibitor of DNA binding‐1 is a key regulator of cancer cell vasculogenic mimicry
Elevated expression of transcriptional regulator inhibitor of DNA binding 1 (ID1) promoted cancer cell‐mediated vasculogenic mimicry (VM) through regulation of pro‐angiogenic and pro‐cancerous genes (e.g. VE‐cadherin (CDH5), TIE2, MMP9, DKK1). Higher ID1 expression also increased metastases to the lung and the liver.

ArcticNet: A Deep Learning Solution to Classify Arctic Wetlands [PDF]
Arctic environments are rapidly changing under the warming climate. Of particular interest are wetlands, a type of ecosystem that constitutes the most effective terrestrial long-term carbon store. As permafrost thaws, the carbon that was locked in these wetland soils for millennia becomes available for aerobic and anaerobic decomposition, which ...

On the transmission of anthrax disease in the Arctic region
Recent cases of anthrax disease have severely affected reindeer herds in Siberia. Experts believe that these outbreaks have been caused by the presence of infected carcasses emerged from the thawing permafrost, underlying therefore the emerging character of such disease in the Arctic region due to climate change.

Radiocarbon Dating in the Arctic Region [PDF]
The Landnám of Iceland is usually dated too early by the 14C dating method, at least to judge from the tradition according to the Landnámabók. Various sources of error are considered. One, the use of driftwood, can be excluded in many cases, since birch is often selected for dating purposes. Second, the settlers may have brought wood with them. A third

B‐cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B‐CLL) and monoclonal B‐cell lymphocytosis (MBL) show altered proteomes and phosphoproteomes, analyzed using mass spectrometry, protein microarrays, and western blotting. Identifying 2970 proteins and 316 phosphoproteins, including 55 novel phosphopeptides, we reveal BCR and NF‐kβ/STAT3 signaling in disease ...

Grove arctic curves from periodic cluster modular transformations [PDF]
Groves are spanning forests of a finite region of the triangular lattice that are in bijection with Laurent monomials that arise in solutions of the cube recurrence. We introduce a large class of probability measures on groves for which we can compute exact generating functions for edge probabilities.
