Die Blattknöllchen-Symbiose stellt eine sehr enge Art der Symbiose dar, in der Bakterien spezielle Drüsen im Blatt einer Pflanze besiedeln. Die Symbiose wurde für die diversen Taxa Primulaceae sensu lato, Rubiaceae und Styracaceae, innerhalb der Eudikotyledonen und Dioscoraceae, innerhalb der Monokotyledonen, beschrieben.
