Records and Occupation Time Statistics for Area-Preserving Maps [PDF]

open access: yesEntropy, 2023
A relevant problem in dynamics is to characterize how deterministic systems may exhibit features typically associated with stochastic processes. A widely studied example is the study of (normal or anomalous) transport properties for deterministic systems

Semipullbacks of labelled Markov processes [PDF]

open access: yesLogical Methods in Computer Science, 2021
A labelled Markov process (LMP) consists of a measurable space $S$ together with an indexed family of Markov kernels from $S$ to itself. This structure has been used to model probabilistic computations in Computer Science, and one of the main problems in

Image Cryptography Based On A Second-Order QRT Difference Equation [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematical, Engineering and Management Sciences, 2022
The use of mathematical concepts of mapping in cryptography provides advantages in securing text or image data. The qualitative properties of mapping can preserve data that is kept confidential.

Area Preserving Brain Mapping [PDF]

open access: yes2013 IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2013
Brain mapping transforms the brain cortical surface to canonical planar domains, which plays a fundamental role in morphological study. Most existing brain mapping methods are based on angle preserving maps, which may introduce large area distortions. This work proposes an area preserving brain mapping method based on Monge-Brenier theory.

A new ecosystem services approach to enable identification of pro-biodiversity businesses of protected karst areas in Central and South-Eastern Europe

open access: yesHungarian Geographical Bulletin, 2022
Protected areas are a leading conservation tool for preserving biodiversity. However, the restrictions on human uses often engender resistance of local communities to the idea of living in protected environment.

5G on the Roads: Latency-Optimized Federated Analytics in the Vehicular Edge

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
Coordination among vehicular actors becomes increasingly important at the dawn of autonomous driving. With communication serving as the basis for this process, latency emerges as a critical limiting factor in information gathering, processing, and ...

A generalization of the standard map and its statistical characterization

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
From the statistical mechanical point of view, area-preserving maps have great potential and importance. These maps exhibit chaotic and regular behavior separately or together in the available phase space as the control parameter changes.

LOCAL CONTROL OF AREA-PRESERVING MAPS [PDF]

open access: yesChaos, Complexity and Transport, 2008
We present a method of control of chaos in area-preserving maps. This method gives an explicit expression of a control term which is added to a given area-preserving map. The resulting controlled map which is a small and suitable modification of the original map, is again area-preserving and has an invariant curve whose equation is explicitly known.
