Evaluation of the Simultaneous Operation of the Mechanisms for Cross-Border Interchange and Activation of the Regulating Reserves

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
This article examines the mechanisms for cross-border interchange of the regulating reserves (RRs), i.e., the imbalance-netting process (INP) and the cross-border activation of the RRs (CBRR).

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Study of automatic generation control in two area power system with DFIG-based wind energy conversion

open access: yes, 2019
The main objective of Automatic Generation Control (AGC) is to keep the frequency within specified limits through primary and secondary control. In this study, a model of two area thermal non-reheat power system with integration of Doubly Fed Induction ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

AN ADAPTIVE AND SELF-COGNITIVE ACE FILTER [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
In Automatic Generation Control systems, the Area Control Error, (ACE) is a parameter which is used as a measure of the generation requirement of an area in a multiarea inter-connected power system.

Self-Adaptive Secondary Frequency Regulation Strategy Based on Distributed Model Predictive Control

open access: yesShanghai Jiaotong Daxue xuebao
To address the issues of reduced adaptability of secondary frequency regulation caused by changes in power system parameters, a self-adaptive secondary frequency regulation strategy based on distributed model predictive control (DMPC) is proposed. First,

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Load–frequency control : a GA-based multi-agent reinforcement learning

open access: yes, 2010
The load–frequency control (LFC) problem has been one of the major subjects in a power system. In\ud practice, LFC systems use proportional–integral (PI) controllers.

A Discrete-Time FOLQR Framework for Centralized AGC in Multi-Area Interconnected Power Grids

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This paper presents a discrete-time, centralized fractional-order linear quadratic regulator FOLQR for automatic generation control (AGC) of three-area interconnected nonreheat thermal systems.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
