Differences in characteristics between naturalized threatened plants and other threatened plants

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 3, June 2026.
Abstract Many non‐native plant species introduced by humans have become naturalized. At the same time many species are threatened in their native range. However, the number of plant species threatened in their native range that are naturalized elsewhere remains unknown.

Separated Sexes, Shared Consequences: Disentangling Predictors of Genetic Diversity in Dioecious Angiosperms

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
This study evaluates the factors influencing intrapopulation genetic diversity in dioecious flowering plants by integrating genetic and ecological data from studies published up to 2025. We show that pollination mode, endemism, and conservation status significantly shape genetic diversity patterns, with endemic and threatened species exhibiting the ...

A revision of Geonoma (Arecaceae)

open access: yesPhytotaxa, 2011
A taxonomic revision and phylogeny of the neotropical palm genus Geonoma based on morphological data and morphometric methods was carried out. 4990 herbarium specimens were scored for 44 qualitative variables and 27 quantitative variables. Qualitative variables were divided into 30 characters and 14 traits.

Bioinformatic Prediction of SNP Markers in WRKY Sequences of Palms

open access: yesCORD, 2011
WRKY transcription factors are unique to plants and performs many imperative functions mainly disease resistance. In the present study we have analyzed the WRKY transcription factor gene sequences to assess the variation at single nucleotide level.

Behavioral Variability of Endangered Northern Pig‐Tailed Macaques in a Degraded Mosaic Habitat in Northeast Bangladesh

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
Macaca leonina in Bangladesh exhibit habitat‐, season‐, and sex–age–dependent behavioral variability. Food‐related activities (p < 0.001, multinomial regression, shown graph) were more likely in the plantation and feeding there declined in summer; adult males in the plantation were also less likely to play and groom.
