Appendicularians and marine snowin situvertical distribution in Argentinean Patagonia

open access: yesJournal of Plankton Research, 2023
AbstractDetailed in situ vertical and temporal distribution of appendicularians, marine snow, fecal pellets, nano- and microplankton were recorded simultaneously with environmental data in the San Jorge Gulf, Argentinean Patagonia (45°–47°S). Data were taken at a fixed station over 36 h in February 2014 with an autonomous Video Plankton Recorder and a ...

Sellaphora mayrii (Bacillariophyceae), a new diatom from the Argentinean Patagonia

open access: yesPhytotaxa, 2020
A new species of Sellaphora was found in modern and fossil sediments from shallow-lake Laguna Gemelas Este, Santa Cruz, Argentina. The new taxon was studied with light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. We present a detailed analysis of its morphology, supporting its placement in the genus Sellaphora Mereschkowsky, and report the physico ...

Pollen analysis of honey from Chubut (Argentinean Patagonia) [PDF]

open access: yesGrana, 2008
The pollen content of 140 samples collected between 1995 and 2004 was used to characterise the honey and determine the source of nectar that Apis mellifera L. uses in Chubut (Argentinean Patagonia). A diverse spectrum of 139 pollen types from 53 families was identified with the Asteraceae and Fabaceae being most frequent.

Spatial variation in molluscan assemblages from coralline turfs of Argentinean Patagonia [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Molluscan Studies, 2007
Patterns of spatial variation of molluscan communities associated with coralline algal turfs were evaluated over 1,000 km of the coast of Argentinean Patagonia. A hierarchically-nested experimental design was used to determine the relative importance of molluscan assemblage variation at three different spatial scales (shores, sites and cores ...

Distribution and environmental determinants of darkling beetles assemblages (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) in Península Valdés (Argentinean Patagonia) [PDF]

open access: yesAnais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências, 2021
Arid lands provide several products and services to humankind, but human activities affect this environment, increasing the extinction risk of the native species. Thus, to successfully conserve the biodiversity of these ecosystems, it is necessary to identify which environmental factors influence the spatial distribution of the organisms that offer ...
