Citrullination of NF‐κB p65 by PAD2 as a Novel Therapeutic Target for Modulating Macrophage Polarization in Acute Lung Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Peptidyl arginine deiminase 2 (PAD2) plays a key role in regulating macrophage function in Pseudomonas aeruginosa‐induced acute lung injury (ALI). Using single‐cell RNA sequencing and proteomics, a new PAD2‐catalyzed citrullination site on NF‐κB p65 (171 Arginine), modulating macrophage polarization is identified.

Role of Testosterone Signaling in Microglia: A Potential Role for Sex‐Related Differences in Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Testosterone enhances Aβ‐induced autophagy in microglia via the non‐genomic testosterone receptor GPRC6A, promoting Aβ clearance by suppressing ERK phosphorylation and inhibiting mTOR activation. In male 5xFAD mice, testicular removal reduces microglial autophagy and Aβ clearance, which is restored by testosterone.

Extracellular Vesicle‐Packaged Linc‐ZNF25‐1 from Pancreatic Cancer Cell Promotes Pancreatic Stellate Cell Uptake of Asparagine to Advance Chemoresistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study explores the role of gemcitabine (GEM)‐resistant pancreatic cancer‐derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) in activating pancreatic stellate cells (PSCs) and promoting extracellular matrix production. GEM‐resistant cells release higher levels of asparagine (Asn), which triggers PSC activation. Long noncoding RNA sequencing identified linc‐ZNF25‐

UGDH Lactylation Aggravates Osteoarthritis by Suppressing Glycosaminoglycan Synthesis and Orchestrating Nucleocytoplasmic Transport to Activate MAPK Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactylation of UDP‐glucose dehydrogenase (UGDH) represses its enzymatic activity and causes glycosaminoglycans loss. In addition, UGDH lactylation facilitates its interaction with chromosome region maintenance 1 (CRM1) and promotes the nucleocytoplasmic transport.

A Tailored Hydrogel With Local Glycemia Management, Antioxidant Activity, and Photothermal Antibacterial Properties for Diabetic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional wound dressing (ACG gels) with antioxidant, local glycocontrol, and antibacterial properties to promote diabetic wound healing. Au‐CeO2 dumbbells effectively eliminate ROS, protecting cells from oxidative stress‐induced damage while exhibiting significant near‐infrared photothermal antibacterial activity.

SENP3 Drives Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Development by Regulating Ferroptosis via De‐SUMOylation of CTH

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, it is proposed that SENP3 accumulates in macrophages of aneurysmal aortic tissues, which promotes macrophage ferroptosis and inflammation via regulation of CTH de‐SUMOylation. Abstract Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a high‐risk inflammatory disorder. SENP3, a SUMO2/3‐specific protease, is closely involved in the development of cancer.
