Abstract We show that one should not use the one‐sided Hodrick–Prescott (HP‐1s) filter as the real‐time version of the two‐sided HP (HP‐2s) filter: First, in terms of the extracted cyclical component, HP‐1s fails to remove low‐frequency fluctuations to the same extent as HP‐2s.

Correlation Between the New Bite Force Meter and GC Dental Prescale II

This study evaluated a new one‐sided bite force meter (OBM‐01). In healthy and older adults, the device showed good reliability and moderate correlation with Dental Prescale II measurements. Habitual chewing side bite force was significantly higher, suggesting OBM‐01 may be useful for assessing oral function in clinical settings.
