ARKit as indoor positioning system

2019 11th International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems and Workshops (ICUMT), 2019
This paper describes the possibilities of indoor space mapping and user movement tracking using augmented reality technologies. The state-of-the-art options for indoor navigation are discussed, including the one, when the sensors deployed on a regular smartphone, are utilized.

ARKit and ARCore in serve to augmented reality

2020 International Conference on Intelligent Systems and Computer Vision (ISCV), 2020
Many libraries are available in the development world to create augmented reality applications, their functionality differs depending on the technology used to detect and track an object, points or features in a scene. In this article, we will discover ARKit, ARCore two open source libraries that display a virtual object in the real world.

Extracting Paper Sticky Notes with Visual-Inertial Odometry of ARKit

2018 5th International Conference on Computational Science/ Intelligence and Applied Informatics (CSII), 2018
Post-it notes are popular on meetings, such as brainstorming or card sorting. On brainstorming, we arrange paper cards for grouping. The positional relationship of paper notes is important. However, there is a problem between an image resolution and positional relationship of paper notes.

Getting to Know ARKit

2018
Augmented reality works by tracking the real world through a camera. By identifying solid objects in the real world such as floors, tables, and walls, augmented reality can then accurately place virtual objects on the scene that create the illusion of actually being there.

Capabilities of ARCore and ARKit Platforms for AR/VR Applications

2019
In this paper ARCore and ARkit capabilities were scrutinized and compared. Authors established comparison criteria for both platforms, developed test applications and ran comparison tests. Obtained results can be a help in choosing the right framework to speed up prototyping and development of modern AR/VR applications.

The Unity ARKit

2018
Now that you have installed Unity and the Unity ARKit Plug-in, it’s time to get to learn a bit more about this tool and make our first AR experience. Note, I called this an experience and not a game, although it could possibly be used as a game in some way; from my point of view a game needs some key elements, which I will go into detail in Chapter 4.

Understanding Augmented Reality and ARKit

2018
You may have heard of virtual reality (VR), but there’s a similar innovation that’s appearing on mobile devices like the iPhone and iPad that’s called augmented reality (AR). Although they may rely on similar technology, virtual reality and augmented reality offer vastly different uses in everyday life.

Augmented Reality with Swift in ARkit and Their Applications to Teach Geometry

2019
Augmented Reality technologies are now entering in a maturing process. We can see major computer technologies companies developing it. For example Google with ARCore born in 2018 or Apple with ARKit born in 2017. These options allow us to develop a very friendly augmented reality environment with a few steps and a very friendly computer-human ...
