Allele‐informed QTL‐seq identifies Hd18 as a minor modifier of heading date in elite rice cultivars

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 19, Issue 2, June 2026.
Abstract Fine‐tuning heading date is critical for optimizing yield, grain quality, and local adaptation in rice (Oryza sativa L.). QTL‐seq (where QTL is quantitative trait locus), which integrates bulked segregant analysis with whole‐genome resequencing, provides a rapid and cost‐effective approach for identifying QTLs underlying complex traits ...

Conceptualizing Emergency Operations Centres as Teams: A Review of Teamwork and Information Sharing in Crisis Management (2014–2024)

open access: yesJournal of Contingencies and Crisis Management, Volume 34, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT During crises, efficient coordination, information sharing, and decision‐making are critical but difficult to achieve due to the complexity and uncertainty. This review aims to describe how Emergency Operation Centres (EOCs) can be conceptualized as a team with particular attention to teamwork and information sharing during crisis management ...

Work‐Related Outcomes Mediate the Associations of Job Demands With Psychological Well‐Being Among Chinese Kindergarten Teachers

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Education, Volume 61, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Teaching in a kindergarten can be demanding. Prior research has linked the job demands of kindergarten teachers to their psychological well‐being. However, whether different types of job demands are uniquely associated with kindergarten teachers' psychological well‐being and whether work‐related outcomes may mediate these associations remain ...

Optimizing Cassava Starch Residue Inclusion in Broiler Diets: Balancing Growth Performance, Liver Health and Gut Microbial Dynamics

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 3, May 2026.
Moderate inclusion (20–30%) of cassava starch residue in broiler diets improved gut morphology and reduced E. coli counts with minimal adverse effects, while higher levels impaired growth and liver health. The findings highlight CSR's potential as a partial maize replacement, but caution is needed at elevated inclusion rates.

Poor Children in Our School? Child Poverty‐Related Beliefs and Practices Among Primary School‐Based Professionals in Finland

open access: yesChildren &Society, Volume 40, Issue 3, Page 393-402, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Despite being viewed as highly equal welfare societies, child poverty remains an unsolved problem in the Nordic countries. This article investigates the various types of institutionalised, underlying beliefs about child poverty held by professionals working within the Finnish primary school system, and how these assumptions shape school ...

Interplay between high‐energy quenching and state transitions in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii: a single‐cell approach

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 250, Issue 4, Page 2689-2705, May 2026.
Summary Studying cell‐to‐cell heterogeneity is essential to understand how unicellular organisms respond to stresses. We introduce a single‐cell analysis framework that enables the study of intercellular heterogeneity of photosynthetic traits, particularly their interactions within individual cells that have identical genotypes, cellular contexts and ...

Aarhus Regenerative Orthopaedics Symposium (AROS)

open access: yes, 2017
The combination of modern interventional and preventive medicine has led to an epidemic of ageing. While this phenomenon is a positive consequence of an improved lifestyle and achievements in a society, the longer life expectancy is often accompanied by decline in quality of life due to musculoskeletal pain and disability.

Silyl Rearrangements in Gold‐Catalyzed Transformations

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 15, 22 April 2026.
The synergy between the exceptional ability of gold catalysts to activate unsaturated substrates and the inherent tendency of organosilicon reagents to undergo silyl‐group rearrangements has unlocked a range of novel transformations, enabling access to otherwise challenging molecular architectures.

Incorporating Particle Settling Enhancement in a Coarse‐Mode Deposition Model

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 7, 16 April 2026.
Abstract Dry deposition rates are usually assumed to rely primarily on gravitational settling, with some enhancement due to interactions with surface elements. However, it is known through experiment, theory, and simulation that vertical velocities of particles in turbulent flows can be enhanced by hydrodynamic effects (often referred to as ...
