Prioritising research on endocrine disruption in the marine environment: a global perspective

open access: yesBiological Reviews, Volume 101, Issue 2, Page 848-868, April 2026.
ABSTRACT A healthy ocean is a crucial life support system that regulates the global climate, is a source of oxygen and supports major economic activities. A vast and understudied biodiversity from micro‐ to macro‐organisms is integral to ocean health.

Low Testosterone in Men With Type 2 Diabetes: The Role of Estrogen Excess and Aromatase Activity

open access: yesClinical Endocrinology, Volume 104, Issue 4, Page 362-371, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective Low testosterone is common in men with type 2 diabetes and is associated with adverse metabolic outcomes. Our objective was to identify factors associated with low total and calculated free testosterone (CFT) in men with type 2 diabetes, with a focus on relative estrogen excess and subcutaneous adipose aromatase expression.

Multi‐Omics Data Reveal Estrogen‐Driven Dysregulation and Stromal‐Epithelial Signaling Alterations in Endometrial Polyps

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 5, 15 March 2026.
Single‐cell transcriptomic profiling reveals that endometrial polyps arise from estrogen‐driven disruption of stromal‐epithelial signaling. Stromal cells exhibit enhanced WNT, IGF, and VEGF pathways, promoting epithelial proliferation and vascular remodeling.

Sex differences in neuromodulatory subcortical systems and their implications for Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Neuromodulatory subcortical systems (NSSs) are uniquely susceptible to dementia‐related pathology, leading to frequent molecular and behavioral impairments associated with altered function of these nuclei. Some of these systems display clear sex‐specific cytoarchitecture and signaling leading to distinct physiology and behavioral outputs in ...

Symptom Clusters and Symptom Burden in Cancer Survivors

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Context Limited information is available on the symptom burden and symptom clusters in cancer survivors. Objectives Describe the occurrence, severity, and distress of 44 symptoms; determine risk factors associated with a higher symptom burden; and evaluate for symptom clusters using symptom occurrence rates.

Male Breast Cancer: Growing Insights and Continuing Challenges

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Breast cancer (BC) in men accounts for less than 1% of all BC diagnoses worldwide. Despite its low incidence, the number of men being diagnosed is increasing. Historically perceived as a predominantly female disease, BC in men has received comparatively limited attention.
