Protective Effects of Hesperidin on Letrozole‐Induced Neurotoxicity: Involvement of Oxidative Stress, Apoptotic Signaling, and Inflammation

open access: yesJournal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Volume 40, Issue 3, March 2026.
Letrozole induces neurotoxicity by promoting oxidative stress, inflammation, and apoptotic signaling in the brain. Hesperidin co‐treatment mitigates these effects by restoring redox balance, suppressing pro‐inflammatory cytokines, and normalizing Bax/Bcl‐2–mediated apoptotic pathways, thereby exerting neuroprotective effects.

Sex Hormones Attenuate Pro‐Inflammatory Gene Expression in Nucleus Pulposus and Annulus Fibrosus Cells in a Cell‐Type Specific Manner

open access: yesJOR SPINE, Volume 9, Issue 1, March 2026.
Methodological overview of primary bovine NP and AF cell culture. Pro‐ and anti‐inflammatory gene and protein expression analyses were performed after 24 h of pro‐inflammatory stimulus, followed by 3 days of cotreating cells with sex hormones in addition to pro‐inflammatory cytokines.

The Contribution of Cholesterol and Squalene Synthase in Cancer: Molecular Mechanisms, Lipid Rafts and Therapeutic Approaches

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, Volume 46, Issue 2, Page 352-381, March 2026.
ABSTRACT A plethora of cellular signaling pathways are dysregulated in cancer cells, promoting carcinogenesis and migration. Cholesterol has recently been linked to cancer by several subcellular mechanisms, especially by its involvement in the formation of lipid rafts, which promote oncogenic signaling and cancer cell invasion. Squalene synthase (SQS),

Mycochemical Diversity and Therapeutic Potential of Hymenochaetoid Fungi from Central Asia: Regional and Global Perspectives

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Botany, Volume 64, Issue 1, March 2026.
Central Asia harbors a rich yet understudied assemblage of wood‐inhabiting Hymenochaetoid fungi. This review delivers the first comprehensive synthesis of 43 poroid species representing 18 genera documented across montane forests, steppes, and xeric habitats.
