Distributed processing of a fractal array beamformer [PDF]
Fractals have been proven as potential candidates for satellite flying formations, where its different elements represent a thinned array. The distributed and low power nature of the nodes in this network motivates distributed processing when using such ...

3D Printed Metallic Dual-Polarized Vivaldi Arrays on Square and Triangular Lattices [PDF]
We report the first Vivaldi arrays monolithically fabricated exclusively using commercial, low-cost, 3D metal printing (direct metal laser sintering). Furthermore, we developed one of the first dual-polarized Vivaldi arrays on a triangular lattice, and compare it to a square lattice array.

Sidelobe suppression is a major challenge in wideband beamforming for acoustic research, especially in high noise and reverberation environments. In this paper, we propose a multi-objective NSGA-II wideband beamforming method based on a spherical ...

Sparse Symmetric Linear Arrays with Low Redundancy and a Contiguous Sum Co-Array [PDF]
Sparse arrays can resolve significantly more scatterers or sources than sensor by utilizing the co-array - a virtual array structure consisting of pairwise differences or sums of sensor positions. Although several sparse array configurations have been developed for passive sensing applications, far fewer active array designs exist.

Array processing in cryoseismology
Abstract. Seismicity at glaciers, ice sheets and ice shelves provides observational constraint of a number of glaciological processes. Detecting and locating this seismicity, specifically icequakes, is a necessary first step in studying processes such as basal slip, crevassing, and imaging ice fabric, for example.

Optimal Excitation Matching Strategy for Sub-Arrayed Phased Linear Arrays Generating Arbitrary-Shaped Beams [PDF]
The design of phased arrays able to generate arbitrary-shaped beams through a sub-arrayed architecture is addressed here. The synthesis problem is cast in the excitation matching framework, so as to yield clustered phased arrays providing optimal trade-offs between the complexity of the array architecture (i.e., the minimum number of control points at ...
