Combination of the biologically inspired coupled system and high‐frequency surface wave radar at signal level

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar & Navigation
Virtual aperture extension of small aperture array has attracted wide attention in high‐frequency surface wave radar (HFSWR). A biologically inspired coupled (BIC) system is employed to virtually extend the array aperture.

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...

Direct position determination algorithm for non‐circular sources in the presence of mutual coupling and its theoretical performance analysis

open access: yesIET Signal Processing, 2023
This article proposes a direct position determination (DPD) algorithm for non‐circular sources observed by a moving array using the self‐calibration technique in the presence of mutual coupling.

mmWave Massive MIMO with Simple RF and Appropriate DSP

open access: yes, 2017
There is considerable interest in the combined use of millimeter-wave (mmwave) frequencies and arrays of massive numbers of antennas (massive MIMO) for next-generation wireless communications systems.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Wideband beam domain sparse Bayesian learning passive focusing localisation algorithm

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar & Navigation
To address the challenges of large‐aperture sonar systems passive localisation, this paper proposes the application of sparse Bayesian learning (SBL) for passive target localisation in the wideband beam domain. The proposed algorithm aims to overcome the

RaMBat: Accurate identification of medulloblastoma subtypes from diverse data sources with severe batch effects

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
To integrate multiple transcriptomics data with severe batch effects for identifying MB subtypes, we developed a novel and accurate computational method named RaMBat, which leveraged subtype‐specific gene expression ranking information instead of absolute gene expression levels to address batch effects of diverse data sources.

The beamformer and correlator for the Large European Array for Pulsars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The Large European Array for Pulsars combines Europe's largest radio telescopes to form a tied-array telescope that provides high signal-to-noise observations of millisecond pulsars (MSPs) with the objective to increase the sensitivity of detecting low ...

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...
