Statistical approach for insulation coordination of high voltage substation exposed to lightning strikes

open access: yesElectrical engineering & Electromechanics
Introduction. Insulation coordination requires accurate prediction of overvoltages at various points within a substation. Computer simulations of electromagnetic transients in real structures of substations become more precise due to the improvements of ...

The role of lipid metabolism in neuronal senescence

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Disrupted lipid metabolism, through alterations in lipid species or lipid droplet accumulation, can drive neuronal senescence. However, lipid dyshomeostasis can also occur alongside neuronal senescence, further amplifying tissue damage. Delineating how lipid‐induced senescence emerges in neurons and glial cells, and how it contributes to ageing and ...

BMI‐1 modulation and trafficking during M phase in diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The schematic illustrates BMI‐1 phosphorylation during M phase, which triggers its translocation from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. In cycling cells, BMI‐1 functions within the PRC1 complex to mediate H2A K119 monoubiquitination. Following PTC596‐induced M phase arrest, phosphorylated BMI‐1 dissociates from PRC1 and is exported to the cytoplasm via its

Study on the Failure Causes and Improvement Measures of Arresters in 10 kV Distribution Transformer Areas

open access: yesEnergies
In recent years, arresters in 10 kV distribution transformer areas of the Guangdong power grid have exhibited a rising trend of premature failures, posing a serious threat to distribution network reliability.

A Field Observation on Lightning Performance Improvement of Overhead Distribution Lines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Two feeders of 20 kV overhead distribution lines which are located in a high lightning density area are chosen to be observed as a field study due to their good lightning performance after improvement of lightning protection system.

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

The influence of the closing phase angle of AC filter on the action of arrester in ±800 kV Nuozhadu DC transmission project

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2020
The power system is affected by different levels of transient shock caused by different switching angle when AC filter switching on. The shock causes frequent action and aging of lightning arrester.

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Intercompartmental communication in senescence

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Senescent cells experience structural changes in the plasma membrane, endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria, lysosomes, nucleus, and cytoskeleton. These alterations disrupt crosstalk among cellular compartments, impairing vesicular trafficking, contact sites, and molecular flow.
