Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

RESEARCH ON THE CONCENTRATION OF TOURIST ARRIVALS IN ROMANIA [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Papers Series : Management, Economic Engineering in Agriculture and Rural Development, 2016
The paper aimed to analyze the concentration of tourist arrivals in Romania based on National Institute of Statistics Data for the period 2008-2013. In Romania the tourists arrivals increased reflecting a higher demand for touristic attractions of the ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Tourist arrivals versus tourist expenditures in modelling tourism demand

open access: yes, 2019
In empirical research, aggregate tourist arrivals and tourist expenditures are often indistinctly used as measures of tourism demand, depending on the aim of the analysis or, simply, on the availability of data.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

THE CORRELATION BETWEEN TOURISM ACCOMMODATION CAPACITY AND TOURIST INFLOW BY MICRO REGION OF DEVELOPMENT IN ROMANIA [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Papers Series : Management, Economic Engineering in Agriculture and Rural Development, 2016
The paper aimed to analyze the relationship between the tourism accommodation capacity in terms of the number of units, and the number of tourist flows in terms of arrivals in Romania and by its 8 micro regions in the period 2007-2015.

An algorithm of local earthquake detection from digital records

open access: yesAnnals of Geophysics, 1978
The problem of automatical detection of earthquake signals in seismograms
and definition of first arrivals of p and s waves is considered.
The algorithm is based on the analysis of t(A) function which represents
the time ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.
