Monoterpenoids from Artemisia austriaca essential oil disrupt hormone‐mediated reserve mobilization to suppress Avena fatua seed germination

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 10, Page 6911-6927, October 2025.
Terpenoid compounds from the essential oil of Artemisia austriaca, particularly camphor and 1,8‐cineole, infiltrate seed tissues and impede the germination of Avena fatua (wild oat) seeds by disrupting gibberellic acid and abscisic acid levels, as well as inhibiting critical enzymes involved in starch, lipid and protein metabolism.

Theoretical and Electrochemical Evaluation of Cannabis Sativa L. Extracts as Corrosion Inhibitors for Mild Steel in Acidic Medium

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2025.
This study examines ethanol (EET), hexane (EHX), and dichloromethane (EDM) extracts of C. sativa L. as eco‐friendly corrosion inhibitors for mild steel in 1 M HCl. At 0.8 g/L, inhibition efficiencies of 90 %, 88 %, and 81 % are observed. Adsorption follows the Langmuir isotherm, supported by DFT, Monte Carlo, and molecular dynamics simulations ...
