Assessment of occlusive disease of lower extremity arteries on the basis of anatomic region: Value of 128-slice multidetector CT angiography in comparison with digital subtraction angiography

open access: yesJournal of College of Medical Sciences-Nepal, 2017
Background & Objectives: The Previous studies of multidetector CT (MDCT) of the lower extremities for the detection of peripheral vascular disease showed high diagnostic accuracy but were performed with older generation systems.

Single‐Cell Annotation and Localization via Integrating Spatial Transcriptomics Maps the Mouse Ocular Atlas and RAO Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We developed the ASCAL pipeline, integrating complementary spatial transcriptomics, to construct a high‐fidelity mouse whole‐eye single‐cell atlas. Applying ASCAL to a retinal artery occlusion (RAO) model revealed spatially restricted immune activation localized to the ganglion cell layer and the selective depletion of a translationally active, outer ...

Erectile dysfunction of vascular cause: statistical evaluation on the Plurimetabolic Syndrome's risk factors and their correlation with penile eco-doppler rates.

open access: yesActa Médica Portuguesa, 2011
The Plurimetabolic Syndrome is a clustering of vascular risk factors (dyslipemia, abdominal perimeter, HTA and impaired glucose tolerance) with great importance in the development of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and diabetes (DM).

Enhancing Blood Circulation With Epsilon‐Near‐Zero (ENZ) Materials via the Far‐Infrared Window of Human Skin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Epsilon‐near‐zero (ENZ) silicon carbide enables a selective far‐infrared emitter spectrally aligned with the human skin window around 10 µm for wavelength‐matched thermal therapy. In 25 within‐subject trials (50 hands) monitored by laser speckle contrast imaging, SiC increases blood perfusion by 30.2% versus a broadband graphite emitter while ...

A Brain‐Penetrant Nanobody Reveals GSK3β‐Driven Proline‐Directed Phosphorylation as a Master Regulator of Ischemic Neurodegeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A brain‐targeted nanoparticle enables delivery of a therapeutic nanobody (Nb.29E9) that inhibits pathogenic GSK3β signaling. This intervention restores AMPK/mTORC1/TGFβ homeostasis, attenuates neuroinflammation and oxidative stress, and promotes long‐term functional recovery after ischemic stroke.

Accuracy of duplex ultrasound in peripheral artery disease: a systematic review and meta-analysis [PDF]

open access: yesJornal Vascular Brasileiro
Lower limb peripheral artery disease (PAD) is highly prevalent. Current guidelines recommend duplex ultrasound (DUS) with spectral analysis for diagnosis. This systematic review and meta-analysis assessed the diagnostic accuracy of DUS in symptomatic PAD

Intrinsically Mitochondria‐Targeting Nanozyme via Coordination‐Assembly of Natural Quercetin for Cascade Antioxidant Therapy of Cerebral Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers that quercetin naturally targets mitochondria. By coordinating quercetin with Fe3+, we engineer an ultrasmall cascade nanozyme (MCN) with superoxide dismutase‐catalase activities. MCN crosses the damaged blood–brain barrier, scavenges mitochondrial ROS, prevents mitochondrial DNA leakage, and blocks the cGAS‐STING pathway, thereby ...

Escore para rastrear idosos (> 75 anos) de alto risco para doença arterial periférica A risk score for predicting peripheral arterial disease in individuals 75 years or older

Wearable‐Derived Diurnal Alignment Between Physical Activity and Device Temperature Predicts Future Disease and Mortality Risk

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Wearable‐derived diurnal alignment between physical activity and device temperature, decomposed into 24 h coupling strength (M24), phase deviation (D24), and 12 h harmonic magnitude (M12), is examined in approximately 90,000 UK Biobank participants.
