Assessing the Impact of Imaging Parameters on MRI Measurement of Kidney T2

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Volume 63, Issue 2, Page 508-522, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background T2‐mapping has promise to evaluate kidney pathophysiology. Prior studies show a large variance in kidney T2, likely due to the differing acquisition sequences. Purpose To compare four T2‐mapping sequences to investigate kidney T2. Study Type Phantom and prospective in vivo assessments.

Pharmacological MRI: Utility in Understanding Drug Mechanisms in Psychiatric Disorders

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Volume 63, Issue 2, Page 346-363, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Pharmacological MRI (pharmaMRI) has emerged as a powerful tool to study how psychoactive drugs affect brain function and to uncover mechanisms of drug action in psychiatric disorders. This review provides an overview of key techniques used in pharmaMRI, including BOLD‐fMRI, arterial spin labeling (ASL), and cerebral blood volume (CBV) mapping,

Neuro‐Immune Crosstalk: Molecular Mechanisms, Biological Functions, Diseases, and Therapeutic Targets

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 2, February 2026.
Neurons, immune cells, and other cellular components within the disease microenvironment (such as stromal cells and tumor cells) constitute a dynamically evolving ecosystem. Neurons directly modulate immune cell activity and inflammatory responses through the release of neurotransmitters (e.g., norepinephrine and CGRP), while also promoting tumor ...

Mitochondrial Intercellular Transfer via Platelets After Physical Training Exerts Neuro‐Glial Protection Against Cerebral Ischemia

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 2, February 2026.
Treadmill training protects against white matter injury and reduces cerebral infarction. Muscle‐derived mitochondrial transfer via platelets is promoted by treadmill training. Platelet transfusion emerges as a potential low‐risk therapeutic strategy for sequelae and vascular dementia.
